Nikki's P.O.V.
The past few months have been extremely boring, mainly due to school. Tests, quizzes, final exams; all the things that make school boring. But, the good thing is....today is this last day of school, which means summer break is finally here!
Ash and Katy said that their new home is great and they feel comfortable living there. Ash has been saying that she gets a lot of money from her job, but its odd that a teenager like her has been getting so much money. Her and Katy have been discussing on whether or not to work more hours in the summer or less; I'm saying less.
"Hey Nikki," Kyo says as he walks up to me. He planted a kiss on my forehead, causing me to blush. "I can't believe its the last day of school, I guess we could spend more time together." Kyo began to blush, while I chuckled. He crimson color faded off of his cheeks a few moments later, then he crouched down and picked up both of our schoolbags; handing me the blue and purple designed one.
Yuki and Tohru eventually arrived at the front door after cleaning the dishes, though Shigure insisted to since they had to get to school. They placed their bags on their back then headed out the door, along with Kyo and I. Shigure stood at the edge of the entrance, waving goodbye and wishing us a good day at school. I heard a grumble escape Kyo's mouth, making me smile. He looked over at me, also smiling, then took my hand as we walked to school.

Katy and Ash stood by the old tree, the one we always met up at. The four of us headed over to the tree to greet my sisters. Sadly, I won't see them much throughout the summer. Kyo was still gripping on to my hand, which I enjoyed. A few minutes later the bell rang telling all the students to get to class.
As we walked in, students crowded the halls, eagerly to get the day over. Kyo continued to hold my hand, not letting me go.
"Be careful. The last thing we need is all of us transforming and I don't want to be a cat right now, neither for you, I'm assuming." Kyo let my hand free, then bent down and pecked another kiss on my forehead, like this morning at the house. "Bye, I love you." He placed his hand on my head then stroked it, gently.
"Um hello? Its not time to act all lovey dovey at the moment, we have to get to class." Ash rudely interrupted. Kyo shot a death glare over to Ash, which she quickly stepped back to avoid anything conflict.
Moments later, Katy and I separated from the others, heading to class for our final day as freshmen. I walked to my locker, grabbed my binders, then walked into homeroom with Katy.

I looked over at the red hand on the clock, ticking for every second it passed by. I rested my head on the palm of my hand as the teacher continued teaching. Most of my classmates were also glancing at the clock from time to time. Some kids were half asleep, waiting for the final bell of the year to ring. I grabbed my pencil and picked up my art book from the ground, opening it to a blank page. I looked at the clock one final time before drawing.
3 minutes.
I looked back down at my sketchbook, then placed my pencil on the paper and started to draw. A brought my pencil upwards, making a small curve on both sides; leaving two small spaces at the top. I placed my pencil at the edge of one of the spaces, making a curved triangle; doing the same thing on the other side. At the corner of my eye, I glanced for a second at the clock.
2 minutes.
I looked at the teacher for a second before continuing my drawing. She didn't even look at any of the students as she taught for the last few minutes of the school year. I looked back down at my drawing and continued to sketch. After drawing the little details on the face, I turned my head looking at the clock.
1 minute.
I grabbed my bag from the floor and stuffed my binders and pencils into the pockets. The students that were awake saw my cleverness of placing the last few things into my bag, then did the same. I kept staring at the clock, which only made time slower. It seems like days like this come to be the longest day, or any day in particular that people are in a rush to get over. For one final time I looked at the clock.
10 seconds
I clenched the strap of my schoolbag tightly, ready to swing it over my shoulder the second the bell rang. A small smile formed on my face as I counted the remaining seconds in my head.

As the bell made a loud ringing sound, my classmates scurried out of the classroom. The ones that were asleep woke up immediately; startled at what they heard. The teacher watched the students run out of class, ready to start their summer vacation.
"Have a good summer, boys and girls!" she shouted, trying to get all of the students attention. I was one of the last to walk out, only because I didn't want anyone to bump into me from the crowded exits and hallways.
I finally exited the school as I inhaled the fresh summer air. I was no longer a freshman, but now a sophomore. Kyo was now a junior, which saddened me a little due because he would graduate before me; along with Ash, Tohru, and Yuki. It would only be Katy and I attending the school together, but it would feel more lonely.
I cleared that thought out of my hand, then headed over to Kyo and the others. As I arrived, they all gave me a weird look.
"Nikki are you okay? You were standing over there for a few seconds. Were you daydreaming?" Ash asked in concern.
My cheeks heated up in embarrassment. "Oh um, I was just thinking about something," I say sheepishly as I scratch the back of my neck. "Sorry to worry you all."
Ash raised an eyebrow, signifying that she didn't believe my statement. She then rolled her eyes at me, then gestured her hand to Katy. Katy walked right then to her, both holding their bags. "Um, its fine. Katy lets get going." After that, the two of them walked off into the city.
"I think we should get going too." stated Yuki. I noticed him taking Tohru's hand as they walked off.
Kyo looked down at me and smiled. "Let's get going. We've got a long summer a head of us." I nodded then Kyo took my hand, and we started walking back home, ready to start our long summer break.
