Nikki's P.O.V.
I continued to sob, but this time in Kyo's arms. He tried to calm me down, but it was no good. I somehow sensed that Kyo was looking at me in a strange way. He knew I cried before, but this time it was worse. These tears so the cry of depression and melancholy.
"It'll be okay," Kyo cooed in a soft, nurturing tone. "Maybe their alive."
I looked up; a few tears slid down my cheek. "I doubt that. The woman said no one made it out safely."
"I know, but how about we check out the scene and see if--," I felt my pair of cat ears perk up in excitement, interrupting Kyo before he could finish his statement.
"We can do an investigation!" I beamed, which shocked Kyo that my mood changed so sudden. "like what they do on TV shows!"
"O-okay," Kyo hesitated. "But how about we do it tomorrow because--," Once again he was interrupted by me. I quickly scurried to the door, then ran out after putting on my black flats. I heard Kyo run to the door to grab me, but it was too late, I was already out the door, heading street for Ash and Katy's apartment.
Kyo's P.O.V.
It kind of surprises me to see Nikki first in a depressed mood to a more happy and excited one. I saw her run to the door, put on her shoes, then ran out the door. I hurried to the door to tell her that we should go tomorrow, since it was gonna rain. Plus, the most idiotic thing she did was she forgot to grab her jacket and if it starts to rain and she has nothing to keep herself warm with, she will catch a cold. I know its summer and you might think I'm too protective over that girl, but the thing is I have no experience with a relationship so I was to be the best boyfriend I can to her. Sometimes, Nikki can be a bit selfish and stubborn, but I will always love her.
I put on my jacket and my shoes, then ran out the door; heading the same direction she went to her sisters once was apartment. It was not long until I caught the scent of Nikki, so that means she was close. Close as in...she's on the right route to the burnt down apartment.
It was such a shame to see her like this; in pain and depression, something I don't ever want to see Nikki in. She's such a kind and lovable girl, that whoever has done this to her sister's and the other residents once living there...they will be sorry. The last tragic death that has happened to her was the death of her adopted mother. As Akito said, it was him, so why is he slowly attacking people Nikki loved? First her adopted mom, then he made Shiro kidnap Ash and Katy and basically threatened to kill them with a knife, after a few months he decides to attack our love, but if he hadn't done that...I wouldn't have been as close to Nikki as I was then, finally he kills Ash and Katy. It feels as if Nikki has had a horrible year so far, but she always keeps her head up.
I was finally at the scene and I saw Nikki crouched up on the ground, crying. I was about to run over to her and comfort her, but I was halted by a single drop of water falling onto my nose. I sighed deeply, then ran right over to Nikki. I could hear the soft, yet quiet sounds as she cried. I crouched down to about her height and placed my arm around her. She looked up, her eyes all red and puffy, but they were not just filled with tears it was also filled with something else; grief and melancholy. I reached in to give her a hug, placing my arms tightly around her. She returned one to me, but hers my more tighter as she positioned her head onto my shoulder; still allowing the tears to fall from her eyes.
"Nikki, it'll be okay," I say in the same caring tone from a few minutes ago. "I promise I can make you well again."
She looked up and gazed into my eyes. Her light blue eyes met with my sienna tinted eyes as we slowly pulled in into a kiss. I pressed my lips with hers as more and more raindrops fell. I released from the kiss then smiled.
