(Big news at the end...please read)
Nikki's P.O.V.
As Kyo and I walked through the main entrance, we noticed everybody happily devouring their dinner. This left the both of us standing in astonishment.
"Hey, why are you all eating without us?" Kyo hollered, which grabbed everyone's attention.
Ash cleared her throat before speaking. "Sorry," she apologized with an attitude. "You two left to go somewhere for the entire day, and we didn't know what time the two of you were coming home, so we started supper early."
"Its alright," Katy reassured. "You can warm up some leftovers to eat." I rolled my eyes at her response.
"Anyway," Ash continued. "Where did you two go?"
I glanced over at Kyo, waiting for a sign for us to explain to them where we went. Finally, a firm nod came from Kyo, giving me permission to explain our day.
"Well, Kyo and I went to see my mother," A loud gasp came from everyone, interrupting my story. "Yeah, but I've learned that she didn't hate me or want to abandon me." I began to tell them all of the news I received from her, but by the time I finished, it was a quarter passed eight 'o clock.
"Wow, that story killed time," said Shigure, while chuckling. "Although, its really remarkable that you and your mother are now united again." I smiled at his response.
"But," Kyo added. "I'm kinda getting a little hungry." I glanced at him with a smirk, waiting for the real answer. "...or a lot hungry." I giggled in his response as he pulled me into a hug.

Kyo and I ate our dinner together, and separate from the others. It felt like we were on a date, so did earlier today. I enjoy spending time with him, however, I cannot understand why Kyo and I basically hated each other when we first met. Probably, it had to do with the curse of The Kitten and The Cat. Later on, we finally understood each other and now we're a couple.
Right after we ate, Kyo and I headed upstairs into our rooms to get ready for bed. As Kyo walked off towards his room, I headed into mine to get my clothes so I could get ready for a shower. I noticed Ash staring out the window in our room, while Katy...kind of speak of it, where is Katy? I shook that out of my head, and instead walked towards Ash.
"Hey, is something wrong?" I asked in concern. Ash turned around and shook her head.
"No, its just that I've been thinking of the past few days. Its been haunting me apparently." she replied, glancing back outside the window.
"Like what's been bothering you? Is it Akito?" I questioned, eagerly waiting for a response.
"Kind of, but its also about my boss, Kira, and Shiro. I've been wondering where he went. Everytime I text him, he never responds, and I'm constantly worried about him." Ash answered, while shoving her phone into my face, showing me all of the texts she sent Shiro. I couldn't believe how many she sent him. There were probably a zillion texts that said, "where are you?" or "Shiro, are you okay?"
"Wow, that odd that he hasn't been responding." I addressed. She then gave me a, I-think-I-know-that face. I rolled my eyes in return as I untied the pigtail braids in my hair.
"Wait, didn't you say that he was in your class?" she asked, raising her voice in excitement.
"Well, he's in my homeroom and math class, but I haven't really seen him since the exam last winter." I replied.
Ash gave me a disappointed look, then spoke, "Then, what do I do...," Her voice trailed off for a moment as she thought about her problem with Shiro. Finally she answered. "You know what? I'm going to call him, and if that doesn't work I will text him, and finally if that also doesn't work, then its over."
I stood there pondering for a few seconds. Its over? Are they in a relationship or something. Why hadn't Ash tell me this? Maybe my thoughts are false, but the only reason I will learn is for me to ask.
"Ash," I began. "you never told me that you and Shiro were a couple." Ash gave me a blank stare, which later formed into a glare.
"We're not dating," she scowled. "I can't even get near him close enough or else I'll transform. Its difficult for me to not be able to hug anyone besides a female! You can hug Kyo and the other Sohma boys because you're probably part of that curse, and I'm not." As anger and jealously raged into her body, she slammed her fist against the nightstand, not even wincing at the pain. All of a sudden, I noticed a single watery substance slide down her cheek. She was crying. It was the first time in years I've seen her cry. For heavens sake, she didn't cry at the funeral of mom...or well my adopted mother.
"Ash...," my voice slowly faded away as she flopped herself onto the bed and bawled like she never had before. I felt bad, terribly bad. To see my own sister cry right in front of me like that means she's in a terrible condition, which she was.
"Really, Nikki," she continued, while sobbing in between breaths. "You have it all. Everything. You have Kyo, us, your mother--," I paused her there as I covered her month with my hand. My bangs fell over my eyes as I spoke.
"Ash, tell me how you feel about Shiro, now," My bangs uncovered my light blue eyes as she stared at me with confusion. I noticed her eyes were red and puffy from all of the tears she just had shed.
"I-," she paused for a brief moment as she pulled me into a hug. "I love him! But, it will never work!"
I sighed. "Just tell him how you feel...text him about it, call, do whatever you please to get his attention for your feelings.
Ash nodded as she picked up her phone and started to text Shiro. I watched as she said on the message, "Shiro, I know you are ignoring me, but please listen...I love you...". After she sent the message, I sat beside her and waited for him to respond. Finally, a buzz came from the phone and it was no other than Shiro. His text read, "I love you too, Ash. I was never ignoring you. I just thought you never wanted to hang out with me ever again. I don't care about your curse, I like it. I'm sorry that I made you worry...". As Ash rear that out loud, she grinned in happiness.
"Thank you, Nikki!" she said as she gave me a tight bear hug. I couldn't help, but give her one in return.
Ash continued to text Shiro for what seemed like hours. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed my pajamas, then headed towards the bathroom to shower. I'm assuming Ash might be up all night messaging Shiro, so I guess I might as well sleep either Kyo tonight...if my sister stop making a big deal about it. Though, I am glad that Ash and Shiro are now officially a couple.

Hello everyone, another short chapter made by your truly ^^ Yeah, I should make them longer. But anyways, the book is going uphill now! The next few chapters will get pretty suspenseful and it might contain a bit of violence, but you can't have a good drama/comedy book without violence.
So, the news I wanted to tell you all.
*drum roll*
It is today the 1st anniversary of the Second Cat! How amazing is that? Its also my friend charlotte_pickfordx Wattpad anniversary!!! Yay two celebrations.
So to celebrate, you can ask me a question, request, and you get a cookie from me (if you have any allergies then tell me) but I just like Chocolate Chip cookies the most so it doesn't matter. ^^
I will see you all soon!
Bye
~Nicoletta
