Legend has it that there was once two men, powerful enough to be considered Gods. They were both the best of friends, enjoying their time together. In fact, they were brothers, twins to be exact. However, their looks and personalities showed others that they were nothing, but friends. These brothers were were known as Yin and Yang.
Yin, an intuitive young man, lived his life in a forest. He was fond of the darkness it had to offer, and the quiet, yet eerie surroundings that lurked within it.
Yang, however, was a logical young man. However, he was considered old due to his unusually white hair. He did not live with his brother in the woodland area, but instead in a prairie, big enough to maintain a farm that would produce many crops for hundreds of people. And that's exactly what he did.
Yang created a successful farm. He used his Cow, Horse, Rooster, Pig, and Sheep to sustain the farm, away from any corruption. Each animal did their job as told so. They were loyal to their master, and respect his needs.
Besides the farm animals, he also took care of some other wildlife too. Some that you would not dare to find at a farm. He had a Monkey. Oh did that Monkey bring him joy. He would always swing around the farm, bringing happiness to all of the animals through his cheerful laughter. He also had a Tiger. She would always obey his commands. Sure, it did frighten many villagers, however, they soon grew to appreciate its gentle nature. She wasn't wild at all. She would only be angered if some animal would misbehave, or if there was an intruder. Finally, he had a Snake. This also frightened the villagers, but he was friendly, just like the Tiger. However, he wasn't always around to help Yang. Half of his life was so hibernation, but Yang, being the positive man he was, allowed the Snake to sleep. In fact, he created a small bed during the his hibernation, giving him warm from his head to the tip of his tail.
But that's not all. Yang had some domestic animals for himself too. He referred them as pets. They were the most loyal animals of all to him, but he gave every animal equal amount of respect so none would feel left out. First was his trustworthy Dog. Just like the Tiger, he protected the lands from invaders and looked after the animals. The Rabbit was next. He was mainly used for maintaining the grass, along with the Cow and Horse, to keep it trimmed and nurtured. He also had a Rat. The villagers despised the animal, although, not this Rat at all. He helped the villagers with other small rodents that invested the poor villagers houses, and snacking away at their only meals. The Rat would demand the other rodents to abandon the village, and never return. He did a fine job, which madly pleased Yang.
But, there was one animal that he secretly cared for the most. And that was the Cat. The Cat to him was everything he ever wanted. He was a friend, almost at the relationship between him and his twin brother. Despite the Cat not doing anything work on the farm, his job was to accompany and comfort Yang. The Cat also brought along a little friend from them to time. She was known as the Kitten. Yang was very amazed to have her and the rest of the animals beside him.
However, back in the forest, Yin had been isolated from the world and to existence, but he too did have some animal friends. Maybe not as much as Yang, but it was enough to keep him company for all of these years. One day, he noticed the success and wealth his brother was making, causing Yin to grow furious towards him. Something inside of him eagerly desired to crush their brotherly relationship.
He marched right over to him, leaving his animal friends in charge of his domain. Once he approached his brother's farm, he began to shout.
"Yang, step foot outside this instant!" he barked, not even wanting to greet his brother with a 'hello'.
Yang opened the door from his small, yet humble home that was attached to his barn. Once he noticed his brother, he smiled gratefully. "Oh, Yin, it is great to see you. I have not seen or heard your voice in quiet some time."
