Nikki's P.O.V.

Kyo and I sat in the living room watching TV. It was a cloudy summer day, but not a drop of rain has fallen, yet. We were both watching the News, and seeing if it would rain today, if so, I better hide myself in my room again.

Tohru and Yuki were out in the forest at their secret base; probably picking vegetables for dinner tonight. Shigure, on the other hand, was forced by Yuki to go to the market and get a few things. And since it might rain, Kyo and I stayed indoors just to be safe.

"Finally, the commercials are over," I sighed in relief. "Now let's  see what the weather will be like for the rest of the day."

"I hope its not rain, or else you will have to lock yourself in your room...just like last time, but I'll still be in there to comfort you." Kyo added. I smiled at this statement, then leaded over and snuggled against him. He placed his arm around me; holding me in a romantic way. I doubt anyone's ever seen this side of Kyo; a more loving and protective side.

As the weather forecaster came on, I grabbed the remote and turned the volume up higher, though it wasn't necessary since we're cats.

"Good afternoon everyone," the meteorologist began. "Today we will expect a few inches of rain showers. It will occur on and off today, so my apologies to those families out there willing to go to the beach. But the rest of the week will be clear, with the average temperature being in the 80s." I looked at the TV screen and saw the '7 day forecast chart' and it showed for today a picture of a rain cloud. I lowered my eyes a bit, looking straight at the temperature.

67° F

"Jeez, that's an strange degrees especially in the summer," I muttered. "I hope Yuki and Tohru will be okay out there. I don't want them catching a cold."

"Yeah, the last thing we need in this house is someone catching a cold...just like that damn rat last year." Kyo murmured. I couldn't help but laugh at his response. Kyo looked at me, then smiled; soon that smile turned into a chuckle.

I smiled then handed the remote to Kyo. "Here, you can watch whatever you want. If you don't mind, I might fall asleep. I'm kinda tired." I leaned a bit closer to Kyo, snuggling against his chest. I looked up at Kyo, his face flushed with crimson red; blushing. Soon the redness cleared and a slight smile grew on his face.

"Its okay," Kyo insisted. "I'll continue watching the News." I nodded in return, then continued to snuggle in Kyo's arms. A few seconds later, I drifted off into a peaceful sleep in my boyfriends arms.

Awhile later I wake up, still in the comforting arms of Kyo. I tugged on the sleeve of his shirt to get his attention. He lowered his head down; smiling as he noticed I was awake.

"That was fast. It seemed more like a quick nap than sleeping," Kyo said as he stroked my soft, light brown hair. I lifted myself up and stretched from the weird position I was in. "I'm gonna go to the kitchen to get some food." Kyo stood up, then walked towards the kitchen to grab a snack.

I looked at the TV screen, noticing the News was still on; just as Kyo said it would be. I picked up the remote and turned up the volume just a hint. I relaxed myself on the sofa, getting as comfortable as I could, watching the News program. All of a sudden, I hear a newsflash saying something happening in Kaibara. Kyo walked in, as I picked up the remote once more and turned up the volume to hear the story a bit better.

"Breaking News," began the reporter at the scene. "Right here on 245 Rosewood Street their has been a tragic fire. This fire has caused an apartment building to burst into flames, sadly no one made it out safely. We are still trying to figure out who and how this fire was caused...since their was no evidence left at the scene," the reporter finished her explanation, then it turned back onto the normal program.

A few tears welled up in my eyes. "Katy...Ash..." my voice trailed off as more and more tears streamed down my face. The only family I had left...are now dead.

I M P O R T A N T!!!!

Okay. How did you all like the chapter? Sad? I know right. Sorry if its short, I just wanted to end at a cliffhanger. Anyways, what do you all think will happen next? And who do you think caused the fire? (I'm not taking Purple Guy as an answer...if ya know what I mean. *cough cough Fnaf cough cough*) Anyways...hope you enjoyed the chapter and I'll update this soon; I still have a load of books to update.

Also...Katy, (the other person who runs the account) made another Fruits Basket fanfic....but it has nothing to do with Fruits Basket....literally. The only thing I like about it is having Nikki and Kyo dating in it. Yeah. Check it out on your own risk. Its called... Into The City...

(I came up with the Title. Full credit on that thank you.)

So....thats all I want to say. So bye for now.
