Nikki's P.O.V.
"Nikki!" I heard someone yell. My ears began pounding and then my eardrums began to ring.
"What Ash, I'm trying to sleep." I say as I pulled the covers over my head.
"Dammit it's New Years Eve and we have to clean the stupid place." Ash replied.
"What? Already? Wow this year went by fast." I said. "Wake me up in 2 hours, okay?"
"I can't do that?! You need to get downstairs right now!" Ash's voice began to rise as she continued on with the argument. I decided to give up, so I wouldn't make matters worse. I slowly took off the covers, then I placed my bare feet on the cold floor making me shiver. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a shirt and pants, then I walked into the bathroom to get ready.
I walked out a few minutes later, then I headed to my room to brush my hair. Once I finished doing that, I went downstairs to help everyone clean the house. At the bottom of the staircase I saw Ash and Katy taking off the ordainments from the tree, then carefully placing them in boxes. Sadly, the tree has to be taken down, then we'll have to wait till next year to decorate the tree. I sighed then walked to the kitchen to find Tohru and ask her what I should help with. I walked inside and I saw Tohru wiping all of glasses, plates, and silverware.
"Tohru, I was wondering what I should do to help." I asked Tohru. She quickly placed her glass that she was wiping down, then she turned around and bowed. "You don't have to do that all of the time, I'm not a celebrity or anyone who is special."
"Oh sorry," She said as she was constantly bowing in apology. I rolled my eyes then sighed. "Anyways, um I think you can help Kyo take apart the tree."
"Okay, but I don't know where he is." I said.
"Right here." My eyes widened as I felt someone touch my should. I turned my head and saw Kyo smiling.
"Oh your scared me for a second." I said sheepishly.
Kyo let out a small chuckle. "Sorry about that. Come on, let's get the tree down." Kyo said then I followed him back to the living room. As I entered the room, I saw the once beautiful tree with glimmering lights now all empty and dull.
"Are you going to take it down now?" Ash asked Kyo.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Kyo replied furiously.
"It looks like your standing there like an idiot." Katy answered.
"Dammit, I just walked into the room! And don't call me and idiot!" Kyo yelled back.
"Okay idiot, I'm going upstairs to clean something in my room that I share with idiots." Katy responded.
"Call me and Nikki idiots one more time, I dare ya!" Kyo said which sounded like he was about to pick a fight with Katy.
"Bye idiots." Katy mocked. Kyo clenched fists, now ready to beat up Katy.
"Why you little—!" Kyo was about to run up to Katy, until I tugged his shirt. At that second, he calmed himself then looked at me in concern. "Yay, whatcha need?" He asked in a softened tone.
"Um, Katy is always like this so you don't have to pick a fight with her." I say remembering the times Katy has always picked on me when I was little.
