Kyo's P.O.V.

It was finally Kimi's tenth birthday. It started of simple; the family coming over and enjoying some food and cake. But today, I felt guilty. Instead of me having to take off my bracelet in front of Kimi, I'm going to take off Nikki's necklace. Akito has kept this secret from me long enough and if his Will states that I will be the monster that I am, then I will do it; for Nikki, Kimi, and myself.

I walked downstairs to find Nikki and Kimi in the kitchen. I headed straight there, then I got Nikki's attention my pulling on her sleeve of her shirt.

"Nikki, can I talk to you for a second...alone?" I ask while biting my lip. She nods then I grab her hand, pulling her outside of the kitchen. "Nikki, do you think we should do it today...? The thing we discussed a few years ago?"

Nikki let out a long, depressing sigh. "Alright. We can't hide it from her forever," exclaims Nikki as I nod in agreement. "She already knows about our curse as cats, but its necessary to tell her now...well show her."

"Okay," I reply. "whenever you're ready we will start to head for the heart of the forest...just to be safe." Nikki nods her head then leaned over and pecked a kiss on my cheek, finally she turned around, heading back into the kitchen.

It was now dusk. The sun was slowly fading, soon reviling the night sky. I stood by the front entrance of my house, waiting for Nikki and Kimi to come down so we could head out. Once I heard the first pair of feet step down the stairs, I jerked my head towards the staircase. Nikki and Kimi made their way to the front entrance, where I was standing patiently. I knew I didn't want to do this to her, especially the part that I hid this from her for over thirteen years. I hope she won't kill me for this.

"Ready?" Nikki asked while slightly nudging my arm. I nodded my head a little in return.

I watched Kimi put on her magenta sweatshirt and her sneakers. Nikki on the other hand only put on a light blue, thin sweatshirt, unlike me who only just wore my normal clothes; no additional clothing. I didn't want to wear my jacket because one, its extremely warm outside and two, I need to continue to fool Nikki that I will be the one actually taking off my bracelet. But, normally neither did Nikki nor I wear any shoes, since we were used to doing that by now. Nikki took my hand, then held it tightly as we walked out. Kimi followed behind us.

The stars twinkled as they surrounded the full moon, risen high in the dark night sky. Owls made their hoot-like calls that echoed through the night as wolves howled at the bright full moon. Kimi wasn't always the one to venture out into the woods, unlike me and Nikki. I wonder how our lives would be if Kimi was actually a cat, but even though both me and Nikki's blood contain the curse of our family, it somehow hasn't transferred to Kimi. Though, it doesn't matter, I will always love her...but will she love me back? Or the same with Nikki when I found out what that necklace reveals?

As the towering trees began to decrease, a small opening appeared in the center of the forest. Nikki kindly commanded Kimi to stand where she was, while Nikki and I headed towards the center of the small circular passage in the forest. Nikki and I stopped in our tracks, now both gazing directly into each others eyes. Nikki held both of my hands, tightly gripping my palms.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" asked Nikki in a worried-some tone.

I sighed deeply and smiled. "Yes, its best now. Later...I have a strong sense that it won't go as well as we think it might." Nikki nods, then a small smile started to form on her face.
