"Hello, Gerard. Come on in." Gerard sat down in his chair, as he had been very familiar with this process for quite a while.

"Hi," Gerard licked his lips. Mrs. Bitch took a seat in her own chair and brought up a clipboard with paper.

"How are you doing?"

"Fine I guess. I wasn't planning on spending my whole time in here."

"What were you planning on doing?"

"Spend my time with Frank," he replied. She wrote something down.

"You spend a lot of time with Frank huh?"

"Yeah."

"Why's that?"

"He's my friend."

"Haven't you said, several times, that you didn't want to withhold any kind of friendship with anyone?"

"Frank's an exception." Gerard knew what was going on and was pissed.

"Why is he an exception?"

"Frank's an exception because I like his company and he doesn't bother me like you do. We can hold interesting conversations, unlike when we talk. I give a shit about what he has to say, unlike when I talk to you." His eyebrows were furrowed. Dr. Bitch wrote down more.

"Do you think you and Frank have a similar mindset? And why?"

"Kind of. I suppose it's the thoughts of this place and music and things we find enjoying," he shrugged. "Or what I see as shallow, short time of happiness."

"Ah. Do you ever feel any violence towards him?"

"I know what you're trying to get at. You want me to stay away from him."

"No, no, no. We don't actually. We think you two are actually good for each other," she explained.

"Of course there's more than one person involved," Gerard rolled his eyes.

"There is. But hey, we all agree you two are healthy for each other's needs."

"Needs? What do you mean? 'Cause I'm probably thinking of something completely different than what you're implying."

Dr. Bitch let out a laugh that sounded more like a scream. Gerard cringed. "I mean you two balance out the other one. Your behaviour has improved, and we think it's because of Frank. Frank isn't as reserved as he used to be. He barely stutters because you two are always talking. His social skills are improving while your people skills are improving," she smiled.

"Hmm. I guess so." Gerard didn't realize that he wasn't as much as a dick as he used to be. But he knew Frank had nothing to do with that. And if he did, it wouldn't be direct.

"Like I was saying before, do you ever feel any violence towards him?"
Gerard shook his head and she wrote something down again. "Do you ever feel the need to protect him?"

"Yes." Her face went blank. It showed worry for a second. But returned to normal.

"How do you feel about that?"

"How do you feel about it? Considering that your face went blank."

"I never did that."

"Yes you did."

"You probably misinterpreted my expression. It was most likely something I did in the moment."

"I know what I saw," Gerard defended.

"Back to the subject," she demanded. "How do you feel about your need to protect him?"

Gerard shrugged in response. "Neutral, I guess."

"Why do you think you need to protect him?"

"Hmm. I think it's because he's an extension of myself."

"Your bond is that close, huh? Within a month and a half?" She seemed surprised and worried.

"Yeah. What is it?"

"Um, well, it's a little out of the ordinary for such a close bond in a little amount of time."

"I suppose so."

"Is Frank aware of your addictions before you came here?"

"No. I told him I occasionally took a hit of something."

"You lied then."

"Yeah." Gerard showed no shamefulness in his lying. He didn't have the ability. He didn't care for the ability.

"Do you think you should tell him the truth?"

"No. I just need to look good."

"Honesty telling him about this from the beginning could help you out later on in your friendship. He's going to learn someway or another. Frank would be hurt from the lies. We both know too many people have hurt him in the past from lying." Dr. Martin's face showed nothing but seriousness. While Gerard's showed nothing.

"I'll consider your advice. I'm not saying I'll take it, I'll just consider it."

"Thank you. Gerard?"

"Yes?"

"Does it ever hurt you when someone leaves you?"

"No."

"How about when you leave someone?"

"Mikey. Just Mikey. I miss him, I loved him. I still do. It doesn't hurt, honestly. I just want to see him again."

"Is it because you two had a similar mindset?"

"Well, ye-" he stopped. "Oh!" Gerard was understanding what she was saying. "That's what you meant when you asked me that about Frank."

Dr. Bitch smiled. "Exactly!"

"I understand now," Gerard nodded. "Mikey and I had a connection because we shared a similar way of life. I guess you could put it. And I had so much faith and trust in him, he was my baby brother."

"Keep going."

"Umm, I guess I can relate to him on an "emotional level," Gerard said making quotations with his hands when he used the phrase, "emotional level", because he didn't really have one. "He's in this bubble of mine. The bubble is myself. But I've included Mikey. And Frank is falling into it. No one else has ever been in this bubble. I'm out for myself but they're extensions of me so I put myself out there to protect them. Because I'm really protecting myself. Mikey and Frank are me."

"Yes! This is the progress I've been hoping for!" Gerard couldn't relate to Dr. Bitch's excitement. "Keep going though."

"I'm here to get what I want in life. I really don't give a shit about hurting people. I enjoy ruining people's lives, it's exhilarating! I just don't see Mikey and Frank as a target. I don't control them because I don't control myself. They are both individuals, but they are both an extension of me."
