Alex's POV

I rattled the bars of my dingy cell, in a vain attempt for something to happen. When nothing did, I sat against the wall of the cell and hugged my knees to my chest. I heard footsteps coming down distant stairs that were out of my line of vision and looked up hopefully. My spirits fell as I saw that it was Lalnable.

"Go away!" I ordered him, even though I had no authority to do so.

"I have some questions for you." he said, ignoring my wish for him to leave me in peace.

"Fine." I spat.

"Where is specimen 5?" He asked, his eyes boring into my own.

"I don't even know who specimen 5 is!" I exclaimed truthfully.

"And who are you?" He inquired, his eyes holding no emotion.

"Why does it even matter?" I questioned angrily, I could feel the tears forming in my eyes.

"Just tell me who you are, girly." He ordered with a snarl.

"Alex." I replied, shrinking back into the wall.

"Who are you to them, 'Alex'?" He questioned. I glared at him but answered.

"Their daughter." I replied, my breathing hard and almost like a panic attack.

"Daughter?" He asked.

"Daughter." I confirmed, "Alex N-N-Nano."

"Do you have the flux?" He inquired looking me up and down for the purple.

"Yes." I replied, of course I had the flux.

"Then where is it?!" He asked angrily.

"Look at my eyes." I told him, my eyes were purple because of the flux. He did so then smiled deviously.

"Their daughter AND a fluxed one..." He said, as if I was some trophy for him to put on a self. Then he just left. I wonder what he expected to gain from that conversation.

It was almost completely quiet except for the distant sounds of explosions and the familiar whirring of machines. I sighed, Dad was always working on science and hearing the machines made me homesick. I missed them.

1 Month Later

I had been here for longer than I could come up with. Without any windows or ways to see the outside world, I was stuck in the dark without a concept of time. Specimen 5 had returned and she thoroughly enjoyed taunting me. I missed my friends, my family.

There was a loud sound and I closed my eyes shut in fear of seeing the worst. When I opened my eyes I found a couple of adults and even more children.

"Who are you?" A woman asked, shaking in fear.

"I won't hurt you." I told her kindly, realizing that she was scared of me. "I'm a prisoner too."

"How did you get here?" Another woman asked, sitting on the cold stone floor.

"Lalnable, he's in a war with my parents and I'm his captive." I said, choking back tears at the thought of my parents. The woman nodded in pity. All was quiet until a young boy that looked about 3 or 4 years old started to cry.

"Where's Mommy? Where's Daddy?" He wailed. I pulled him onto my lap and started to rock him slowly.

"I'm Alex, and I don't know where your parents are but I will help you." I promised, rocking him back and forth. A woman smiled at me as the boy stopped crying.

"I'm Timmy, today's supposed to be my birthday." He told me as I wiped a tear off of his cheek.

"Happy birthday Timmy." I told him, even though nothing about this situation was happy.

"If you don't mind me asking," The first woman to speak said, "Why are your parents in a war with Lalnable?"

"The only thing I know is that Lalnable is my dad's evil clone." I said, still rocking Timmy in my arms.

"Evil clone?!" she asked in surprise.

"And Specimen 5 is my mum's evil clone." I added.

"It must be hard for you." A woman said sympathetically.

"It is, but I know that we will get out of here." I promised them.

"I see you've made some friends." Specimen 5 said from behind. I set Timmy on the floor and turned to face her.

"Go away, Specimen 5." I ordered, lightly pushing the children behind me.

"Lalnable told me to get you." She said in her high voice that I despised. I sneered but stood. A mother who was holding a wailing baby girl tried to grab my hand but I pulled mine out, giving her a sad smile. I went with specimen 5 and she lead me to an evil looking lab where Lalnable stood waiting, smiling like the maniac he was.

"Sit." Lalnable ordered. I obeyed and sat in the chair that was set in the middle of the room. I put on my brave face even though inside I was shaking like a tree in a windstorm. I kept quiet but my worries intensified as Lalnable attached cords and such all over my body.

"This should be fun!" Specimen 5 said happily, clapping her hands together as she watched. Lalnable was still smiling his evil as he walked over to a large control board with levers, switches, and buttons. He pulled a large lever and pain shot through me in the form of electricity. My back arched and I yelled in pain.

"It hurts doesn't it?" Lalnable asked evilly turning it off. "We've got all day."

Kim's POV

"Is it working?" Duncan asked.

"Yes, shh." I ordered. I saw Lalnable pulling a large lever and then my vision turned as if Specimen 5 was turning excitedly. What I saw made me want to yell. Alex was strapped in a chair, her back arched in pain. She cried out as Lalnable and specimen 5 tortured her.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" Lalnable asked, switching the lever off. "We've got all day." I stumbled backwards into Duncan's arms as I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks.

"What did you see?" Duncan asked, pulling me into a hug.

"Alex... Lalnable... Specimen 5... torture..." I said, gasping for breath.

"What?!" Duncan raged, still holding me in his arms.

"I'm going to kill him." Duncan promised. I would too.
