Daryls pov

Just to let you know this chapter follows on from the last chapter of the origional. As it may seem a bit out of place.

As soon as the car hit her, for a second I didn't know what to do. Lily flew over the bonnet and onto the road, I tried to run to her but the kid grabbed hold of me, stopping me from going anywhere.

"Let go of me!" I struggled.

"Wait. They can help her. They're the only ones who can. They have medicine, machines, a doctor. You go out there you'll have to kill them, then she can't get their help. Is that what you want? We can get her back. We can get Beth back." The man held his grip as I watched these other men place Lily onto the stretcher and load her into their car.

"What's it gonna take?" I snapped.

"A lot. They got guns, people." The man replied.

"So do we." I forced myself from his grip and walked in the opposite direction. "Come on."

I ran down the corridors to the back of the building, where me and Lily came in and out into the street. Then I ran down to the alley way where we'd stopped after the fall from the bridge but there were walkers roaming around the entrance.

Just like I'd done before I took some paper out of the bag and lit it, throwing it into the street. The walkers took attention to it so me and this kid could pass through.

I moved the fencing for him to slip in and I followed on behind running over to the truck. I climbed into the drivers seat and lucky enough for us the engine was still running. Once the kid was in I put my foot down and drove through the fencing.

The road back to the church was going to be a long one but the sooner we get there, the quicker we can get back and help Lily and Beth. "Noah." The kid spoke from next to me. "Name's Noah."

I glaced over at him and he was looking back. I had no intentions of saying anything in return but I did anyway. "Daryl."

The rest of the journey was quiet. Neither of us said a word. I just kept my eyes on the road, keeping my mind focused on getting back. That was until the fuel ran out.

We slowly came to a stop on the main road outside the church. The quickest way back was though the woods. "Come on." I spat over to Noah.

We both climbed out of the van and I lead the way back to the church. Walking through the woods at night is something that could lead you to your own death if you're not careful. Every footstep fearing that it's not your own.

Then I saw the lights from the church up ahead. As I got closer I saw someone standing in the darkness. Once I stepped out of the tree line I saw Michonne standing before me. She had a wide smile on her face as she saw me but it soon disappeared once she realised Lily wasn't with me.

"Where's Lily?" She questioned, looking over my shoulder.

I looked at her and turned around to find Noah was still in the trees. "Hey. Come on out." I called back to him.

Noah slowly came out from the tree line and I turned back towards Michonne. "Where's Lily?" She repeated.

"Come on." I nodded my head to go inside.

I walked of ahead with Noah following, then Michonne. I slowly opened the door and stepped inside to find half of our people gone. Rick then approached me from the other side of the room as Michonne closed the doors.

Rick nodded at me and then looked over at Noah. "Who's this?"

The room went silent and everyone looked over. "I'm Noah." Noah replied and stepped beside me.
