Daryl POV

I hated the fact that she was out here, but I knew she had both Carol and Maggie at her back. I should've said something back at home and told her to stay, but I knew she'd only fight me. I wanted her at my back, but now we were splitting up. I understood why, but it's not to say I didn't like it.

We said our goodbyes and I pulled her into a hug, kissing the top of her forehead and trying to relieve the tension from my body. I then made my way back over to the car and back into the driver's seat, where Glenn and Briana hopped into join me. We then continued on down the road, leaving Lily, Carol and Maggie watching as we drove away.

It was another fifteen minutes before we arrived at the compound and I drove round to the opposite side of the compound, where I parked the car in the trees. I then got out and pulled my rifle from the backseat, where I made my way over to the building. Glenn and Briana following close behind.

Once we were ready, we stood and waited as we watched Eddie drive one of the other cars towards the compound, but before he could get to close, red lights shone down and lit up the area.

"Stop right there! Announce yourself asshole." A voice was soon to follow.

I kept myself hidden as Eddie slowly raised his hands, putting one out of the window to show he was unarmed. "It's Eddie from Hilltop! It's done!"

"Step out!" The voice yelled again. Eddie then turned off the engine and stepped out of the car with his hands still raised, holding the bag with the walker head in his other hand. "Is that it?"

"Yeah." Eddie yelled back.

"Bring it here shit brain." The door to the compound then opened to where two people walked out and Eddie made his way towards the door.

The three of them then stopped as they neared one another and Eddie handed the bag in their direction. "I don't want the bag needle dick." One of the men said.

Eddie then took the bag back and opened it, lifting the walkers head out to show them. "Will you look at this shit? Will you look at this shit!"

The second skinnier man then put his gun over his shoulder and stepped forward. From the look on Eddie's face he was terrified. This was where the plan could go either way.

The second man then pulled the head closer to him using Eddie's arm and looked closer at it. "He broke my hand. I broke his nose that's why it looks that way." Eddie told them quickly as he showed them the hand that I had broken. The second man then took the head from Eddie.

For a moment, Glenn, Briana and I watched as the three of them stood looking at the head. I couldn't tell if they believed it or not, but we had to hope. If they took it, we were in, if they didn't, it was down to us to take them out before anyone else finds out we're here.

As we continued watching, the second man lifted the head up, by its hair, so it was at eye level with Eddie and moved his other hand towards the mouth. "Little bitch broke my nose." He mimicked with an immature tone to his voice, moving the mouth up and down. The larger man just stood laughing as Eddie just awkwardly stood there.

The second then threw the head into the grass and wiped his hands on Eddie's shirt. "Okay. Looks like you've learned. I'll get your guy, you'll go home and you'll bring us more stuff next week." He then tapped Eddie on the cheek.

He then went back inside as the larger first man started whistling the happy birthday song. This was it. I started to make my way round to them as the door closed and before the first could finish the third line, I pulled him back and slit his throat. He dropped to the ground I plunged my knife into the top of his head. Everyone else then came running from the trees and from behind the building.
