I watched as Edwards stuck the needles into the girls skin and the other officers were handing medication over and turning on the machines. I looked over at Beth as she just stood helplessly in shock. Who ever this girl was she meant something to Beth.

I looked back into the crowded room and Dawn signalled to me to take Beth away whilst they delt with the girl. "Beth. Come on." I walked her down the corridor to her room.

She must have known what I was going to ask as we walked into her room. "She was in my group." Beth sat on the bed. "We were at a prison and got seperated when it got over run. I need to stay. I can't leave her here."

"I'll do what I can to help you and her." I sat down next to her.

Dawn knocked on the door as it began to get dark. She came in and walked over to us. "Can I have a minute?"

I nodded my head and went back to my room. I lay my head down on the pillow and looked at the plain ceiling. I must have fallen asleep as I woke up and saw Beth walk past with a mop to hand.

I got up and walked out of my room and saw Beth in the corner of my eye go into Dawns office. I walked down to the canteen and picked up the clipboard. With Gorman gone it falls onto me to write down what is taken.

As each patient came in I'd turn a blind eye to the occasional item they'd take. The people who are here know that you can't stay in one place and wait for it to go bad.

Once I'd finished I took the paper and walked out towards Dawns office but stopped when I heard voices. They were muffled at first but then I heard something about the girl. "The patient in exam room two. She was half dead when I bought her in. She's not looking so good. This ain't pin the tail on the donkey. We really going to waist valuable resources on this girl?"

"How much electricity does your DVD take?" I made out to be Beths voice. "We have very limited resources here. You charge it everyday."

"Are you kidding me?" A male voice objected.

"That woman has been here one day. What good it this place if it doesn't try to save people?" Beth argued back.

"Turn of the machines. Tell Edwards to take the patient off of his rounds. If she pulls through on her own then fine but you're right she's not worth the effort." Dawn snapped.

I walked into the room as O'Donnel walked past me. "You can't do this. Beth's right." I spoke out.

Dawn looked at me then towards Beth. "You just killed that woman. Who do you think I have to side with?"

"Tell him. Tell him you changed your mind." Beth behged.

"You don't know how fragile this is. There's nothing I can do." She looked at me. I shook my head and slammed the paper down on her desk. "So you'll have to do it. You're going to save that womans life." Dawn glanced at me and handed Beth a key. "This is to the drug locker. I don't even trust Edwards with this, so take it."

Beth took the key as there was a message on Dawns radio. "Shepherd. Just heard a gun shot maybe a mile north, north east."

"Grab Lamson. Take a car and track it down." Dawn replied to her radio.

"Why are you doing this?" Beth asked and glanced at me.

"I thought you were weak. You've proved me wrong." Dawn replied and opened the door for Beth to step out. Just as I was about to follow on after her Dawn put her hand out to stop me.

Beth looked into the room as Dawn closed the door. She stood opposite me and sighed. "I know it was you." I looked at her with a puzzled expression. "You helped Joan and Noah to escape."
