We left the hospital, after us all having our moment to take in what'd happened, taking whatever vehicles we could find to fit us all in. Daryl, Rick, Sasha, Michonne and Molly all went as a group to gather as many supply as they could and the rest of us waited for their return before leaving the city.
We stopped on the out skirts of Atlanta. Non of us spoke for the ten minute drive. No one knowing what to say. I know how hard it is for them all. Molly and Maggie more than most. I know all Molly wants to do is earn her keep and Maggie just lost her sister.
I stood with Maggie, Briana, Molly and Carol whilst the rest made camp for the night and dug a grave for Beth. It's horrible knowing that the people who you love don't get a proper burial any more. They don't get to be sent of the proper way or go the way they want to.
Once the grave was dug we all gathered for Gabriel to do his speech for Beth. "We look not at what can be seen, but we look at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary. But what cannot be seen is eternal. For we know that the earthly tale that we live in is destroyed. We have a building from God. A house not made with hands. Eternal heavens. We prey for you as you are now in safe hands."
We each took a turn to place a shovel full of dirt into Beths grave remembering the life she had before it got dark. I wasn't of much use to people due to my injuries but I need to keep pushing for everyone else including Beth. It's thanks to her that I'm still alive now,
As the sun set I noticed Noah sitting in the back of one of the vans. I slowly walked over and sat down next to him. "I'm sorry about what happened when we first met. If I would've know who you were. That I'd end up with you." He apologised.
"There's no need to apologise. If I were in your position I would've done the same. People do some crazy things." I stopped and thought about what I was going to say. "Beth made me promise something. She said if anythig were to happen to her that I'd be the one to get you home. I can't let her down." I comforted him.
"She was gonna come with me." He sighed.
"How far?" I asked.
Noah looked at me. "Outside Richmond, Viginia."
"I'm gonna get you home, to your family. I promise. For Beth." I told him.
"Thank you." He thanked me.
I continued talking to Noah gathering as much information as I could about his town. If I could somehow persuade Rick and the others then we might just be able to make it.
Once I'd finished talking I walked over to Rick and repeated what Noah had told me. Something inside of him clicked and he agreed with getting Noah home. Knowing Rick this could be our new plan. He then went over to talk to Noah by himself.
I searched the area for Daryl but I couldn't see him anywhere in the darkness. I could hear the sobs all around me from everyone. The only faces I could make out were those of Rick, Noah, Molly and Carl who was holding Judith, who were gathered around the camp fire.
My muscles ached from my injuries so I sat down on a fallen log next to the fire Abraham and Rosita had bult. I still can't get over the fact that Eugene lied. All this false hope and for what? Another one of our family dies.
I stayed up most of the night not being able to sleep. No one else awake. Just me. Memories of all our loved ones who we've sadly lost on our journey filled my thoughts. The next time I'll see them I'll probably be dead.
Soon enough the sun began to rise and one by one everyone joined me around the now burnt out fire and waited for someone to say something. Once again no one spoke, it was like the memories of before were slowly fading and were becoming different people.
