I stood looking through the window and waited for Daryl to return. The party at Deannas was still going but after a while I watched as a couple of people decided to leave.
I turned my head to the door opening and Daryl walked in. He quietly closed the door behind him. "Sasha."
"She still upset about Tyreese." I asked. Obviously knowing the answer.
Daryl nodded. "Get some sleep. She'll be fine. She's gone to bed."
I nodded without any argument. It was late and I for one was exhausted. I don't know about anybody else. I walked over and lay on the bed with Daryl next to me and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.
That same memory from the party flooded my dreams. The chaos. The screams. The walkers. The broadcasts. My family. My friends. Everyone I knew. I remember it was only me, Briana, my dad, Norman and Brianas mum, dad and sister who managed to get out the house. Even now it's only me and Briana who've made it this far. It's us who've moved on. Found another family. But nothing can take away the pain of losing so many people.
It was the sound of knocking that woke me from my thoughts and dreams. Not knowing what it was I fluttered my eyes open and turned to the side to find Daryl had gone. Then it dawned on me. He was leaving with Aaron. I just hope I can say goodbye before he leaves.
I stood up, got dressed and slowly started to make my way down stairs. Something inside me felt guilty for not saying goodbye if Daryl had already left. I'd never forgive myself if I never got to see him again.
The knocking sound returned as I reached the bottom of the stairs so I followed it into the living room where I saw Michonne standing next to the fireplace. I stayed quiet as I watched her take out her katana and place it onto the nails she'd hammered into the wall. It definitely took its place up there.
Michonne turned around and froze as she saw me leaning up against the wall. "How long have you been there?"
"Not long. It looks good up there." I told her. Michonne glanced back at her sword and smiled before turning back to me. "Do you know if Daryl's already gone with Aaron? I just wanted to say bye before I head over to Deannas." I asked.
"He, Rick and Carol went out gun training. He should be back soon." She replied. "You made a good call with this place. We're lucky to have someone like you."
"No. We did. As a group. We all pulled together to persuade Rick. That's why we're all here. We work things out as a family. It's not just me." I smiled and Michonne smiled back.
Before either one of us could say anything else we both turned our heads to the front door opening. Rick then stepped into view. "Is Daryl still around?" I asked before he could say anything.
Rick chuckled and nodded. "He's fixing his bike. Him and Aaron are preparing to head out."
"Thank you. I'll catch up with you both later." I said goodbye to both Rick and Michonne and headed out the door. I walked down from the porch and headed up the street towards Aaron and Erics house.
The garage door was open and I watched as Daryl pushed a bike out onto the dirve way. "Morning." I called over.
Daryl stopped what he was doing and looked up with a slight smile on his face. "Didn't want to wake you earlier." He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand.
"It's alright. I just wanted to see you go. Before I head over to Deannas." I told him hiding the fact I didn't want him to go.
Daryl nodded and we both looked down at his bike. As we did I noticed the oil that covered his hands so I handed him a cloth. He took it and as he wiped his hands Aaron and Eric both came out of the garage holding packs.
