After Sport, I was on my own walking to Chemistry. Melanie had rushed to Mrs Morris after staving her finger while playing volleyball, so I was alone. At least I already had my own seat and I wouldn't be faced with the challenge of finding one. As I walked along the corridor, I saw Matt coming towards me. Aha. The perfect opportunity.

"Oh, Leah. Just the one I was looking for..." I smiled at him, waiting for the right opportunity to pounce. Only half an hour ago, I was pushing him off of me. He would get suspicious if I changed so suddenly.

"And why were you looking for me?" I pushed my hair back, out of my face, hopefully, he would get a whiff of the perfume I had sprayed on only a second ago.

"I was wondering if you were free...tonight?" I rolled my eyes in an attempt to act cool.

"Seriously, Matt. I go to a Boarding School. Even if I was free, where would you take me?" I left him on the edge, so he was still unsure of whether I would go or not.

"Oh, I have a few locations I know of. You know, the hay barn is a pretty romantic place at night..."

I gave off a wolf-whistle, a little thing I had learned as I was training Harris to do his acrobatic tricks. "Ooooh, Matt asking me out on a date... "

"So...will you come, or not?"

"Hm, I'll think about it." I left him hanging as I wondered to class. I turned just in time to see his completely shocked face. I guess it was the first time he had ever had a girl say 'no' to him before...

"So, Leah..." Taylor said to me as we were walking to Music. It was my first ever music lesson as my old school didn't provide any music, what-so-ever. "I heard about you and Matt..."

"What?" That got my attention. "Me and Matt...?"

"Your date tonight...?"

I groaned. "I haven't even said I would go yet."

"Yet." She said and took her place.

"Okay class," Mr Campbell said above all the chatter. "If you could please settle down, now." He started fiddling with his computer and it let out a loud screech. "SORRY! Sorry, I'll turn the volume down." He said while turning some knobs, making the screech louder. Finally someone took pity on him and rushed to help him.

"So, as you all know - or don't -" he looked pointedly at me, "We will be having our annual 'Halloween Concert'. A huge cheer went up.

"Seriously?" I hissed at Roxanne, who was sitting beside me. "They have a HALLOWEEN concert?" She nodded, while grinning.

"Get used to it, girl. Welcome to Oklahoma."

"Yeah. I've been here a while, I should have known...you and your crazy ways..."

"So, tell me Leah, are you going to go on that date with Matt, or not?" Melanie said, as the lunch lady piled her plate high with slop.

"I don't know. I've never been on a date before, wont it be awkward?"

"OMG, girl? You've never been on a date before?" I shook my head, ashamed. "Don't worry, I'll help you. Okay, firstly, if he asks you to meet him right after riding, say no. You don't want to meet him while you're still in your sweaty riding clothes, and stinking like horse. Say you've got better things to do. In that time I'm gonna curl you hair, paint your nails, pick out a cute outfit. Not to mention a great perfume!" And on and on she rambled. After talking endlessly about how she would alter my appearances, we stopped at Matt's table. "I'll leave you two alone..." And with that she scurried away.

"Hi, baby." Matt said, putting his arm through mine, "Wanna sit with me today, then?" I looked up and saw Eric sitting just two tables away. He was staring straight at me. Earlier I had completely flipped when Matt called me 'babe' but now I just went along with it, trying to show Eric I didn't care.

I looked Matt in the eye. "Okay then, Matt. If you want me too." I flashed him a smile, hoping it wasn't too creepy. I slipped into his bench and smiled at his friends, wanting to feel welcome.

"So, this is my new babe, Leah, guys." He said, introducing me to five other guys. "Babe, these are my football mates." I nodded at them, gritting my teeth in annoyance at him calling me his 'new babe'.

"Gee, man." One of the guys said, "You were right! She's smokin'!"

I blushed bright red. "SHE is right here." I said.

"Got quite a temper, have we?" He teased. "I would say, keep her, mate."

Matt put his arm around my waist and squeezed me, tight. My mind was screaming at me to peal him off, but I just smiled at him.

"So," a different guy asked me, "You're from England, then?"

"No," I joked, "I came from Botswana."

"Oh my god!" Some other guy with tattoos all over his arm said. "I would never have guessed."

"Really? Wow, more exotic than I thought!" Matt said.

One of his friends with a huge earring piped up, "Where's Botswana?"

I looked at the guy who had asked me if I came from England. "Yes. I am from England."

For a moment everyone was silent. They all looked at each other with blank expressions. And then, as if they only just understood my sarcasm, they all started laughing hysterically.

"Got a sense of humour, too, I see." Tattoo guy said.

"I dunno, man." One guy said, looking at me. "She looks to big to be a 34C."

Oh My God.

Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.

You have got to be kidding me.

"Na." Someone else said. "She's definitely over a D."

"Double D at least!"

"So, what are you, then?" It was tattoo guy.

"Yeah, come on, put us out of our misery."

"Oh my god, guys." I said. "I'm not surprised you're all single." I picked up my tray, stood up, and walked away from the table, dumping the contents in a nearby bin. I heard someone wolf-whistle behind me. I turned around and stuck up my middle finger. Something I would never have done, just two days ago.

"Ooh, feisty!"

I rolled my eyes and walked off.
