Islamic words, a mouthful ??
I just thought why not share, what means what, with you all.
Sure some of the words the muslims use are a mouthful BUT they have the most beautiful meanings too.
So here we go :
1. When u greet someone everybody can say Hi or Hello but
As salaamu alykum means - Peace be upon you
Its reply is
Wa alykum us salaam - And peace be on upon you too
Now isn't it just better???
We are truely greeting the person this way arent we?
2. To thank someone we simply say 'Thank You'
Jazaak Allah hu khair means- May Allah reward you with goodness
Its reply
Wa iyyakum - And to u
Wont u wanna bless someone when they have done something good for you or said something good to you.
I always wonder how a simple Thank You is enough.
I mean some people just do soooo much for you, be soo kind and considerate with you. Would a simple Thank You be enough to show them that ur grateful, to show them your gratitude ?
3. When we tell someone we would do something say
Insha Allah - if Allah wills
Because nothing in the world happens without the will of Allah.
Allah knows everything but we do not.
We don't even know if we'd be alive to do what we said we would. So instead of promiseing say insha Allah. If Allah wills.
