You and a Shawn were a great couple. You two were known for being extremely in love, despite the age difference. You were 13 and he was 18. You met at Starbucks, when you accidentaly spilled your frappuccino all over him. You offered to help him clean up and you both looked into each other's eyes. It was love at first sight. He immediately asked you out, and gave you tickets to his concert that happened to be in your town.

Sometimes, you both got hate for the age difference. You ignored it most if the time because Shawn was always there to cheer you up and tell you it wasn't true. Aaliyah, Shawn's sister, was one of your best friends and you were really close in age. "Hey, Liyah!" you say as you walk into their house. "Hey, y/n! I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go to the mall later?" she replies. "Yeah, that would be awesome!" you answer. "Shawn's in his room," she adds as you walk up the stairs. "Thanks! I'll be down in a few to go to the mall!" you call.

You opened the door to Shawn's room to see him strumming a few chords on his guitar. "Hey, babe," he says. "Hey, are you writing a song?" you question. "Trying to, but I can't think of any lyrics," he sighs. "Here, play the chords again," you say. He does and you instantly think of a verse. "Never thought that we would end up here, should've known it from the start," you sing. (pretend Air isn't a song yet) "Wow, that's really good! Thanks!" he says, writing it down.

"I would love to stay and help, but I'm going to the mall with Aaliyah," you say, getting up. He pouts, "Ok, but at least give me a kiss." You giggle and peck him on the lips. "Bye!" you say, leaving his room. He blows you a kiss on your way out. You go downstairs and find Aaliyah. "Let's go," you say, grabbing your phone and wallet, and walking out the door with her. Mrs. Mendes drops you two off and says she'll be back later to pick you up.

After getting a slushie, you and Aaliyah just walk around. A group of girls, about age 16, see you two and start whispering. They start walking up to you. You and Aaliyah look at each other. "Hey, aren't you two Shawn Mendes's sister and girlfriend??" one girl asks. "That's us," Aaliyah says. "Aren't you a little young for Shawn?" another girl asks you. You start to talk, but another girl cuts you off. "Yeah, I don't see why a famous hot 17 year old would date a random 13 year old. You're not even pretty," she remarks.

You start to say something, but get cut off again. This time it's by Aaliyah. "Why do people always say that?! Yes, there may be an age difference, but that doesn't matter! Everyone who knows them can see that they're so in love! Including me! They're so adorable and they love each other so much, I didn't even think it was possible! He's happy with her! So please stop hating on them!" she rants. The girls look dumbfounded so you and Aaliyah just walk away.

"Thanks a lot, Liyah," you say, hugging her. "Don't worry about it. It just really bugs me how people can't accept age differences! People can date whoever they want!" she exclaims. "I totally agree," you say, walking into another store with her. After you finish shopping, Mrs. Mendes comes to pick you guys up. "Thanks for the ride, Mrs. Mendes," you say as she pulls up into their driveway. "No problem, sweetie. Oh, and call me Karen," she says.

Aaliyah goes upstairs and you stay downstairs for a minute, looking at Shawn's adorable baby pictures, giggling at them. Shawn comes downstairs a few minutes later. "Aaliyah told me about the girls at the mall," he says, sitting down on the couch. He pats the seat next to him, and you sit down. "Yeah, but don't worry about it. She stood up for me," you reassure him. "You know I love you, right?" he replies, wrapping his arm around you. "Yeah, I know. I love you, too," you say, snuggling up to him. "Hey, were you looking at my baby pictures?!"
