“Maddy! Okay ka lang ba?”, si Iya, bigla akong niyakap. What’s gotten into her?

“I’m fine.”, tinulak ko sya palayo. Slightly lang. Hehe.

“Okay.”, sabi nya nang nakangiti.

Tinarayan ko sya. I’m still mad at her, you know. Kahit na naiintindihan ko na kung bakit, hindi ko pa rin matanggap. It’s unacceptable!! IF Sab is like Cinderella, like a very big IF. Then that means I’m.. I’m.. one of the evil stepsisters!! But maybe I could be like Anastasia who turns good in the end. But she’s not a princess!! Huhuhu!! Oh well. This is real life, not a fairy tale. I know in my heart I AM a true princess. Baka talagang hindi si Ethan ang prince charming ko.

“Let’s eat.”,sabi ni Carl.

I’ll give it to Carl, though. Magaling sya magluto. Maybe that’s why Iya likes him. And he makes her laugh. Maybe they are the Frog Prince and his princess. If so, then who am I? Where’s my prince charming??

I should stop thinking about this stuff since it only makes me frustrated.

Tahimik lang kami kumain. Walang nag-uusap. Awkward. It’s been like this ever since na malaman ng buong bahay na si Ethan at Sab na.

“Well I’m finished.”,sabi ko. “Thank you for the food. I’m going to bed.”

Huh? Did I just said that? OMG!! I’m being nice to them!! I’m so awesome!!

“Wait.”,sabi ni Sab. “Can we talk?”

Oh uh. I don’t like this.

“Sure.”, I said.

Umupo kami sa living room at doon kami nag-usap.

“Uhmm..”, sabay naming sabi.

“Sige mauna ka na.”,sabi nya.

“Ahum.. I just wanted to say thank you. For calling Ethan about me. So... thank you.”, mahinang sabi ko. Shucks!! Mas mahirap pa to kaysa makipaglaban sa mga gangster girls kanina.

Nakangiti sya. “You’re welcome.” Nahiya ako bigla.

“Sooo....”,sabi ko. “What were you going to say?”

“Uhmm..”, it’s her turn naman to be shy. I don’t know what could be more hard to say than ‘thank you’.

Huminga muna sya ng malalim bago sya nagsalita.

“Can we be friends?”, sabi nya.

Sa totoo lang, na shock talaga ko. Para kong isang lumang model ng computer sa sobrang tagal ko mag process.

“Uhmm..”, yun lang yung nasabi ko. I know right? Speechless ako!! Unbelievable!!

Oo sinabi ko ngang para syang si Cinderella, pero it doesn’t mean na kailangan nya yong panindigan no. I mean, really?? This is real life!! People will take advantage of very, very nice people. Kaya nga walang totoong Cinderella eh.

“Kung ayaw mo, ok lang. Sorry.”,sabi nya. Siguro kasi tulala lang ako.

“Wait!”,sabi ko. Haaayyy, kasi naman. Bakit ba ang hirap pagdating sa kanya? Kasi inagaw nya ang first love namin ni Iya? And she doesn’t even look like she loves him!! Totoo yon, promise. Kung pano yung trato nya samin, ganoon din kay Ethan. Pero it’s none of my business, sooo. (Ayokong ma-label-an na tsismosa noh.)

“I.. I...”, Uhhgg!! Put up your courage Maddy!! You’re a princess!!!

“Ahem... I guess we could.. be... you know... friends..”,sabi ko. Finally I got it out of me. Kahit na sobrang hard. The force was definitely with me. (It’s a star wars reference. If you didn’t get it, then you’re dumb!! Hahaha!! *evil laugh*. I have dumb readers!! Wait...that means...!!!)
