HEART RACING MOMENTS
~
TAEHYUNG HASN'T SPOKEN A word since we entered the school building. It was definitely scary since his usual sweet self diminished to bitterness. His hand finally let loose of my wrist and moved down to mine, interlocking ny fingers with his. I felt a pang in my heart, and tears began to build up in my eyes.
Why are my two best friends like this now?
I wiped away the streams down my cheeks with the sleeves of my blazer. I didn't want Taehyung to worry about me. After all, what happened a few minutes ago stirred up feelings of rage and frustration inside him, and I wasn't ready to become his on-the-go punching bag–sarcastically. He wouldn't hit me... Right?
At first glance of the interior of the school, it was pretty damn extravagant. Just before the entrance doors was the grand foyer. The floors were tiled in a glossy checkerboard pattern with snow whites and midnight blues. Walls were decorated with a shiny, 3D, gold bricked wallpaper, and texturally, it actually felt like real brick. You could really experience the sensation of the cracks of the brick and the coarse, rough surface. In the middle of the room, was another marbled water fountain, only it was gigantic compared to the one outside. The fountain had three large, circular tiers, decreasing in diameter reaching the top.
Hanging above the fountain, was the most eye-catching of all, the thousand diamond chandelier. The jewels hung in a cylindrical shape made from four golden rings, and a huge bulb of light suspended in the middle of the chandelier. What was really spectacular about it was that the diamonds were like a prism, absorbing the light from the bulb and emitting the separated rays of light that spread all around the room in a beautiful color spectrum. Man, this school is expensive.
Taehyung impulsively fiddled his fingers in our clasped hands, which instantly drew my attention away from the foyer. I blushed, and my lips instinctively curved into a teeny tiny smile. Looking down at our hands, I thought about all the times back in the past when I held hands with Taehyung. Walking to and from school, running around on the playground, and even dragging his butt around town with Jungkook.
Reminiscing back, I don't think I held hands with Jungkook as much as I did with Taehyung. I was always too scared because the first time I did it with Taehyung, he initiated the holding hands thing. Also, Jungkook was the type to just hold any girl's hand, so I didn't want to just be someone who he'll hold hands with. I craved to be more than just his friend, like with Taehyung, since he and I are practically more than friends but less than lovers. You know what I mean?
Taehyung suddenly sighed, running his hand through his faded chocolate locks, "Sorry for getting all mad earlier."
"N-No, it's okay, y-you don't have to apologize, o-oppa," I stuttered.
"It's just that–Jungkook gets on my nerves sometimes. God, what makes him think that he can hit on my girl?"
The faint, red tint canvassing my cheeks deepens as I became flustered as his words. I clear my throat with an ahem. "W-Well, uhm.. Taehyung-oppa, c-could I ask you something? But, you have to promise not to get mad at me."
"I won't be mad," he said, smiling down at me. "I won't ever be mad at you."
"Okay," I started, exhaling my breath, "what happened to you and Jungkook after I left?"
Taehyung's now widened eyes averted from mine, and his lips pursed in a straight line. He was hesitant, chewing on his bottom lip perhaps in deep thought. Slowly, his mouth opened as to say something, but he quickly shut it, leaving me curiously wondering to what's going on in his mind.
"Uhm, okay–" Taehyung began, looking to me once again, "it's a long story."
"We have time, don't we?" I asked.
And as I said that, the bell rang, and students from the outside came pouring inside the building in a loud, crowded mess. We were squished, so I quickly had the tendency to shut my eyes tight and wrap my arms around Taehyung's body for protection. As I rest my head upon his hot chest, I could hear and feel his heart start to beat faster and faster against the side of my face. I actually liked the feeling, and I knew that once we let go I would immediately lust after it again. I was quite oblivious as to why he was like this.
I guess he had too much coffee this morning?
~
"I'LL EXPLAIN LATER, NOONA," was the last words I heard from Taehyung as we made our separate ways towards our floors.
The halls were less congested now since Taehyung held me tight until the chaos dumbed down. I took my word for it, and yes, I desired to embrace him again. Although I wanted to undergo that sensation again, I resisted my urge as I occupied myself by chewing on my bottom lip and hugging my crossed arms to my chest.
I entered my first class, which was Sketching III, a professional art class for art students. Pencil-drawn murals filled the walls of the tennis court sized classroom and circular tables scattered around the room. I wasn't aware of the fact that most of my classes were advanced as this was just my first day here. Well, I just hope I don't fuck up.
Students sat three to a table, and a majority of the tables were occupied already. I searched around the room, hunting for an unwanted chair. Luckily, I found an empty table at the back of the room, and I rushed towards it. As I was pulling out the plastic chair from under the hardwood table, about to sit down, a loud slap of a ruler caught my attention, as well as everyone else's.
"You can't sit there, new girl!" a girl yelled. She was standing at the front of the classroom, her weight shifted on one side and a hand placed at her waist. God, she looked like a whore with all that makeup plastered on her face and skin-tight uniform. How is she even in art if she looked like a disaster-piece?
"W-Why?" I asked, stuttering.
"Honey, that table belongs to someone," the identical whore next to her blurted out. "So that means.. You can't sit your ugly ass in his seat."
"Who are you calling ugly?" Jungkook interrupted as he entered the classroom. "And whose butt can't sit in my seat? By the way, it's not polite to swear."
My heart started to race rapidly, and my breaths shortened as Jungkook made his way toward me with a smirk slapped on his face and his hands dug into his black slacks.
"Jungkook! The new girl is trying to sit at your table!" the first whore yelled.
Jungkook stopped and stood right before me. I felt my heartbeats quicken as I looked up at his tall self. Then suddenly, his arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me to his body.
"Everyone, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend," he announced.
GIRLFRIEND?
