Chapter 14 A Visit To The Greats

Morgana woke from a disturbingly troubled nights sleep to pad over to the water basin by her bed splashing water on her face to try to wake herself up. The dream she had all night longno more like nightmareswere of a witch casting a spell over the land to prevent rains from falling over a section of crops, but ended up flooding the rest of the village instead. That was how Morgana sat bolt upright in her bed this morning sweat poring from every pore of her body and drenching her and also waking her with gut wrenching shakes.

Now she stands at her table by the side of the bed trying to pour cool water down over her hair and face to cool down her head, face and hands. The dreams racked her to the core, as well as making her think about what happened to their village just two nights before. Could it have been something like in her dreams, could it have been a vision from the Greats telling her what had happened to their small village. Morgana shook with the thought of ever having a witch among their village folk. No it couldn't be anything like that, she would know in an instant if that were the case being the shaman.

Morgana made her way down to the kitchen where Patience was busy at work fixing their breakfast and morning tea. “Morn Patience, How did ya sleep?” Morgana took her seat noisily pulling out the chair on the wooden floor. Patience turned to look at Morgana to see her slumped down at the tablenot her usual selfshe responded.

“I slept fine, but woke very early,” She turned back to what she was fixing on the stove stone ground gritsturned off the stove, fixed two plates with eggssunny side upthen placed on a plate in front of Morgana and one at her place, then proceeded to pour two cups of tea before sitting down at her place at the table. “I had this dream too about rain and mud that woke me up.” Patience shook her head then dug into her breakfast, she was finished talking it was time to eat.

Morgana dropped her spoon at Patience revelation of a dream exactly like her own dream staring at the girl eating like nothing happenedlike she had said the sun was shining and she went for a walk. “Um... Patience... Ya had a dream...?” Morgana stunned stopped till Patience looked up from her bowl of food nodding her head at her. “It was about raining and mud ya said?” Morgana questioned. Again Patience just nodded her head up and down continuing to eat her breakfast. “Can ya stop eating for a moment please.” She did placing her spoon down aside her bowl folding her hands in her lap looking up at Morgana. “This dream last night ya had was there more to it?” Morgana inquired.

Patience placed her hand to her head, finger to her temple in thought thinking back before responding. “Well... I remember the rain falling down... There was mud on the ground... Oh it was like yesterday around here, mud everywhere.” Patience started tapping her finger on her temple thinking some more. “Oh yes... I was at ma mothers house helping out and the field ran around the house to the front... filled the street right up it did, right high too. Mud everywhere... I woke up here in ma bed all wet and had to change... so I got up and came down to start breakfast.” Patience picked up her spoon and went back to eating her breakfast as if nothing she said bother her one bit.
