Chapter 3 A New Moon Rises Preparation Must Be Made

The new moon is in one nigh,t and Morgana has been very busy preparing for the task at hand for the coming night. She has gathered all the necessary ingredients for the Dark Night Spell and set them out on her mixing table. Tonight she will only need four black candles to form a circle around her and her large bunch of herbs and resins to use as a balefire in the center just off the smaller alter in a huge cauldronancient as all timeshe will be setting up soon. Her black athame for working her magic tucked nicely into her fur boot, an ancient chalice for an offering to the goddess among the other thing lying upon the table. Her walking staff a gift passed on from Edwena another gift from the GreatsNo ones knows where it came from or who originally made itWas given to her just one week before Edwena died.

A young girl walking through the village nervously looking around at all the passers by as she heads to the shaman's abode. Upon arriving at the entrance to said shaman's door raps her tiny delicate knuckles upon the old and faded oak wood. Once, twice. The old time and weathered door creaks open to reveal a sliver of an empty hall.

“Hello,” Patience calls out to no one in particular. “hello, is anyone home?” She calls again. Silence returns her question. She reaches up and out with a hand raised to push, as the door creaks open further... she steps within the hallway a few paces... just far enough to see beyond the door “Hello Morgana, Are ya in?” She questions once again this time a direct question. Her answer... the door behind her slams shut causing poor Patience to jump... hand at her heart. “Yelp!” Bang as her back slams against the wall behind her. Startled, plastered to the wall, heart racing, eyes wide in fear.

Morgana walks in the rear door in from the garden right as she hears a young girl yelp and a banging from the front of her house. 'Was I expecting anyone today?” She pondered? “Oh my I almost forgot Patience was to come help me cart everything up to the alter today.” She breathed out. Morgana ran through the house to the front to see poor patience leaning against the wall with one hand over her heart a second covering her mouth. “Giggle,” Morgana tried her best to stifle a laugh. “Patience is it?” She looked to the scared little thing stuck to her wall. She offered her hand to take. “Come there is much to do, maybe a cup of lavender mint tea will help settle ya nerves.”

Patience reached out a very shaky arm to Morgana trembling still from the welcome the house just gave her. “My dear ya are trembling so, and oh so cold come a nice cup of tea by the fire will fix ya right up quick.” Morgana lead her to the back of the house to her living room where a nice warm fire was already going as she slipped off to make tea from an already hop pot on the stove. “I hope ya like it, this is my own special brew Marissa was kind enough to cute me some fresh lavender just last week. Drink up this should help.” She handed Patience a steaming cup of tea and sat down beside her and a nice brown padded upright chair to enjoy her own cup.

“My dear what has ya in such a fright this day?” Morgana asked Patience while she silently sipped her tea. This was the very first time the two girls have met in the village Patience being just around sixteen summers of age. “I have never seen anyone stuck to ma walls like that before.” Morgana giggled.
