Chapter 15 Righting a Wrong
Waking up three feet above a bed, with the sun cracking thru the window a pretty shade of green, kind of brings to mind a slight problem in the world, one would think.
That is just the thing Morgana and Patience woke to the next day after Morgana's impromptu visit to the Greats. It was the sudden ear shattering scream of Patience that woke Morgana that next morning to revile her less than normal sleeping arrangements.
Feeling the unnatural tug the earth was effecting upon her body she sent out a pulse of fire, air and wind energy to counteract the overflow she felt coming from the earth. It slowly leveled out, and they both settled down, as did the greenish glow through the window.
Interest peaked now, Morgana, rose from her bad to check first on Patience's well being, then headed down to the first floor. She looked out through the rear door to the garden beyond, all was as it should be. From there Morgana headed to through the hall to the front door; out to the porch and beyond. The sky was just clearing, sun rising in the sky. Peering around at the neighboring villagers besides her, it was then that she noticed the mounds of mud, slit and rich farm dirt were no-longer filling the cobblestone streets. Over-night all had vanished–and not by her hand. No. She stood there open mouthed staring out beyond the open patch out to the cobble in front of her. Sparklingly clean as if they had just been laid.
She took in a sharp intake of breath.
Morgana turned and headed back inside to catch Patience sitting at the table head in hands still in her night dress. “come dear let's go up and change there is work ta do” Morgana lifted Patience by the arm and headed up to the bedrooms to change for the day. Once they were changed and back in the small kitchen, stove lite pot of water ready for morning tea–it was time to sit and think this new problem thru. First off where did all dirt go; and who did it.
After her second cup of tea, and a long talk to calm Patience down. Thinking back to the night before–her dream walking with the Greats and the revelations about the witches–she summarized it had to be witch related in some way. As a shaman she has the powers over the wind, rain, sun and the earth, but not the power to move large bodies of earth back into place. That would take great magick to accomplish; something as a shaman she didn't use working with her earth magick only. Healing Magick; yes often, but never on a scale like this. This was tremendous magic something a shaman would never perform.
Finishing up the morning's tea they headed out to speak to the Tribal leader Marissa for answers once again being she was one of the oldest of their kind along with Nadine the elder. Upon arriving Marissa and Nadine just so happen to be leaving the house to head to their house to have a pow wow about the happening over-night.
They all entered Marissa's house and went into her living room to sit and talk about what happened to all the field dirt that was covering the cobble stone road no a day before. Marissa was the first to speak up. “Morgana how did ya do all that over night?”
Morgana's head snapped up at the question asked of her with a rebuttal. “Weren’t me , I had nutting ta do with that there over night,” She came back with quite quickly shaking her head side to side. “we be a coming here this morn to see if ya can splane it to us.”
Wide eyed Marissa and Nadine both shook their heads in unison then Nadine spoke. “This... the sun... it..it was green shining in ma eyes this morn... I never see nutting like it be fore.” Nadine stuttered out. She was visibly shaking. Morgana rose to her feet and walked the two steps to her side where she sat in a small wingback chair kneeling down before her and took both her hands into hers. She gently pushed a mild shaman power to calm her nerves down a bit. “Thank ya Morgana.” She bowed her head to her then continued. “I dressed and ran out ma front door ain’t nutting in the street all the way to Marissa's house. I was just bringing her to show when ya got here.” Morgana stood up from Nadine's chair and went to Marissa's next.
Setting down in front of Marissa she took both her hand into hers and scanned her to check her out to see how she was doing as she did just a moment ago with Nadine then gave Marissa a smaller dose of her power to level her out. “I feel we have a problem Marissa. We must get the village ta getter quickly. Patience and I will have ta check all village. That green light make everything off a bit, I felt it in ya both. We must be quick.” Morgana and the three other rose up and headed quickly to the center of the village where they had a large summoning bell–used to summon everyone in the whole village in an emergency–this was just such an occasion.
It was just over an hour before all, but the last family in the village was standing around the village square. Marissa spoke up loud and clear after rapping the bell one more time with the striker to get everyone to quiet down. “I has called ya all her for Morgana to check ya all. Last night as ya all can tell the dirt went back,” There was a lot of commotion at that point Marissa rag the bell once again to quiet the crowd down. “this early morn there was a green sun.” Again the voices rose noticeably loud. Again the bell sounded. “People please,” She waited a few minutes for all to quiet back down. “Now Morgana is gonna check ya all out here and now. Morgan.” Morgana stepped forward as did Patience.
Looking all around at her people Morgana whispered to Patience first then spoke to the crowd. “I want ya all ta take one northers hand form a chain like up on mountain.” She waited till they had all linked hands on the other all the way around then back to where Patience, Morgana, Nadine, and Marissa stood. The fore of them linked hands with the last two, and both Patience and Morgana joined their shaman powers together to scan the entire village on a single swipe. When they were done Morgana leaned to Patience and whispered into her ear to push a healing power through and out to her arms just as Morgana was doing. They were able to heal the entire village at one time of the same thing that Morgana had felt coursing through both Nadine and Marissa.
Within a few minutes Marissa and Patience finished their cleansing powers and thanked the villagers for their patience and were told to return to their homes. On the way back to shaman house Morgana became very weak and had to be helped back home by Marissa as Nadine made sure Patience was able to also make it to the house fine. They all went inside the house to the sitting area in the rear of the home. Marissa went about lighting a fire in the kitchen stove to make tea and something to eat while Nadine set to making a fire in the hearth of the fireplace of the living room to take the chill of the place. Morgana and Patience both looked a bit peeked at best after their mass healing of the village. Nothing a little tea, soup and rest wont help heal.
“Here Morgana, drink some of this,” Marissa handed her a cup of hot tea as Nadine did the same to Patience. “Sip it slow ye be hot.” she warned. Marissa went back to the kitchen to finish the stew she started meat minuted before. Morgana and Patience had all the fixing for a really good stew already started on the stove to begin with so all Marissa had to do was to add to it and get the fire going under it add a few herbs to the mess, and it was ready in no time for them. She brought a tray with four pipping hot bowls full of the stew into the living room for everyone to sit and enjoy. “Here try this. It should fix ya right up.” As Marissa handed Morgana a bowl of stew.
By the time Marissa and Nadine left a few hours later the two were feeling better; well as better as two who healed an entire village of people could get, now all they needed was a good nights rest.
