Elfrida
Elfrida was happy that her sister had won the Kalen. She really was. But that didn't stop her from still being a bit unhappy that she won. And that it was Audrey who lost. But sacrifices must be made.
For the cause.
For the greater good.
For the Master.
But what if the sacrifice is too big? What then? But she knows better than to ask these silly questions. Their is no greater sacrifice than to the cause. She has dedicated her entire life rest to this. She needs to stop having any more doubts and just continue on. She's been at this for this long, there is nothing that is going to keep her from finishing it. What's done is done, there's no turning back from this group, her family. Even if she could, which she wouldn't, that would spell certain death. So she might as well make the most of it. After all, she is doing this as the goddess told them to, through the Master of course.
In the early morning, the next day, the sun was just starting to rise into the sky to great the new day. Today was the first day of classes, at least for the werewolf side. The vampires start at night, they don't have those convenient little rings that allow them in the sun light. Only the richest back home could have those spells put on their rings.
But for those who have mixed blood, they have school in the day and night. Elfrida was already dressed, so she went down to the dining hall. When she entered, she knew all the wolves could smell her as different. It wasn't like this was the first time they smelling her mixed scent. She ignored the stares as she looked around for a table to sit at.
She found her sisters almost immediately. Since she knows their sent by heart, Cammi's scent was of water lilies and Akili's was of a rhubarb flower, she knows that they were near the door. They were sitting in one of the booths with Cole and some girl she hasn't ever seen before. There was one more spot left open, probably for her but she walked past them. She felt their eyes following her all the way to the table in the very center of the room. The very table where Audrey, her four closest friends (or followers), Rose, and a few others were sitting at. Elfrida sat down next to Audrey, not allowing her to command her to sit there. She wasn't a dog. And she wasn't about to let anyone tell her what to do. Only one could. Audrey raised an eyebrow but said nothing of it.
Everyone at the table had quieted, surprised that anyone would dare sit at the most important table in the school. Next to the queen herself. Not melodramatic at all. Audrey said, ignoring the others, who were sending questioning looks her way. "Elfrida I'm so glad you received my invitation this morning, I wasn't so sure if you would accept it."
It was true that she had sent an invite. Elfrida had found it when she had been about to leave her room this morning. It had been resting innocently on the floor at her door when she had opened it. It had been a simple piece of paper, but sealed shut with wax. Inside it read:
"You are welcomed to sit with me, old friend.
It would cause quite a surprise to your dear sisters."
-Audrey
After thinking it over she decided that she would join her. Not just because it would make her sisters worry, but also because she was tired of trying to hide all of her friendships all the time. So she ignored her sisters to join her friend at breakfast, it's not like she's always going to be sitting there anyways. Maybe.
