Cammi
2:46 the clock read when Cammi checked. Again. She was sitting in the Common Room on the third floor, and getting very impatient. Sitting there with her sister and her new boyfriend just staring at the TV that was showing some movie, she hadn't caught the name of. Cole had his arm draped over her shoulder, trying to hide the fact that he was tired. Though he was horrible at hiding it. It didn't help that he's eyes kept on drooping. When he yawned for the fifth time, she finally said, "You might as well go to bed, I know your tired."
"But you aren't, so I'm perfectly happy to stay up." He said stubbornly, kissing her forehead. He is so adorable when he does that.
Cammi smiled. "But there's a problem with that. I don't need to sleep as much as werewolves need too, or vampires for that matter."
He sighed. "Fine, but wake me up as soon as you hear from Alison."
"I will." But she didn't plan on it. She would just tell him tomorrow, he needed his sleep.
"Night." He said getting up, kissing her on the mouth this time.
"Night." She said smiling brightly up at him. And he left.
"Sigh," Akili said overly dramatically, "I wish I had a boyfriend like that."
Cammi rolled her eyes, and once again checked the clock. It's been three minutes. "I would have thought she'd be back by now."
She hadn't heard from the Headmistress since she had left for the meeting. Alison had said she would come and talk to them right after. But she still hasn't. This of course made both Akili and Cammi worried, but they figured she had just forgotten to tell them. That she had been too tired after the meeting. After all she is a werewolf, and they usually sleep at night, normally. But strangely this felt different.
And so after they let another hour pass by, they finally headed towards the Headmistress's office, passing Elfrida and some friends. They were all wearing identical clothes, all in black. The friends were Victoria, Audrey and some boy they've seen sitting with them, a vampire, they were staring at the two sisters. All except for Elfrida. Elfrida glanced at them, flashed them a smile and continued on her way. But the others continued their stare of impenetrable watching.
It was creepy, their gazes. Like they were daring them to do something. And it seemed like Elfrida wasn't paying attention at all to this, except, her sister noticed that she was purposely looking directing in front of her. Audrey placed a hand onto Elfrida's shoulder and causing her to flinch. Her sister had flinched, but why? Audrey ignored it and dragged Elfrida along.
The others continued watching them walk down the hall, their eyes never leaving their back. Eyes that seem to say they wanted to fight them. To destroy them. This was all extremely weird and highly unlikely, but that was how Cammi felt their gazes were telling them. Almost like her and Akili were in enemy territory. Akili and Cammi looked at each other when they rounded the corner. "I think they are for sure the group we're after." Ccmmi whispered, aware that they might still be in close enough distance to be heard, the advance hearing made such things harder to deal with.
"Yea think." Akili gave her a look. "That was creepy though wasn't it. I think they were planning something. Something bad."
This time Cammi gave her a look. "Let's just go find Alison." And so they continued to her office. Once there, Akili knocked on the door, but there was no answer. They waited a few minutes. Then she knocked again.
Nothing.
A bad feeling was starting to form in Cammi's stomach. They went inside, finding the door unlocked. Inside, everything was in order. In perfect order. Nothing left out of place. And no one was there, not even Headmistress Alison and her rooms were attached to this office. But they did see the note on the table, the one that was slipped under the door. Akili went over to the desk and read out loud. Cammi sat down, looking thoughtful. "You know what, there's still something bothering me about that letter. Something with how it's worded."
"How so?" Akili asked curiously.
"I just remember talking to Emily. And she called our headmistress......." She trailed off, a look of realization spreading onto her face. "Principle."
"What? What is it?" Akili asked sounding worried and completely unsure what she was talking about.
"She called her our principle. Its another english word used for the head of a school or academy."
"But it says headmistress.......oh..."
They both left fast, running as fast as their feet as their feet could carry them. Running out of the school and into the woods with their speed. Fast enough that no quick sighted supernatural could see them in anything but a blur. They made it to the clearing and were immediately struck silent.
There were two bodies handing by their wrists by chains attached to a thick tree limb. They were both swaying, back and forth, back and forth, to a nonexistent wind. The bodies looked so peaceful almost like they had just fallen asleep from being hung for so long. But Cammi and Akili could smell the blood, they could see the blood gliding down their necks and dropping like rain off their bare feet, forming a red puddle on the ground.
Their clothes were different from what Cammi had seen them wearing earlier, both were now wearing identical long black dresses. She noticed something else, their eyes were wide open screaming silently for help and above their eyes, on their foreheads was a triangle made of blood. A triangle that reminded her of the Of The Woods mark. What the hell was going on? She thought for probably the hundredth time since this assignment had started.
The bodies, she didn't want to think of them as Alison and Emily, were over a much larger symbol of the Of The Woods symbol, this time not just the triangle but with the raven and crow in them too. And the raven and crow were incredibly detailed with their beaks meeting in the center, only showing one side of their intelligent faces with the puddle of blood acting as the eye of each. There were words written underneath the triangle, in what looked like the same hand that had written the greeting note on the first day of school. It simply said in angry lines: THE MASTER WILL RULE OVER ALL.
Akili was covering her mouth with her hand, her wide eyes staring at the bodies of the two people they had just been talking to earlier. She hadn't made a noise other than a gasp when they first saw the sight. Cammi went over to her and turned her away from the new dead, "Hey." Her sister was in a state of shock, not responding.
"Come on, we should go and tell someone." Cammi said gently guiding her sister away from the circular clearing.
They left slowly, with Cammi looking back only once. She didn't know who to tell about the dead Headmistress and the human girl. Cammi will have to for sure tell the Velent Army, they'll send a replacement. Gods, what were they going to do? No one was supposed to die.
And now there's already three dead.
Gone.
Forever.
Who knows what the future will hold for them.
