Elfrida
Elfrida was walking back down to her room from the fourth floor when she ran into Akili. She had apparently been looking for her. "There you are, I have been looking all over for you. The students have started to arrive for this thing already." Akili said dragging her sister down to the third floor and into the third floor Common Room.
In the Common Room there were tons of other students talking to one another and walking around. All the other teenagers have a similar look to them but you can tell what they are, werewolf or vampire, even whether they were Bitten or Born. There are more Born at the academy than Bitten mostly because the Bitten don't even know about this school or they just don't care if they're our age.
In case you're wondering the difference between Bitten and Born, it's simple. Bitten vampires or werewolves were bitten by a vampire or werewolf and given that vampire or werewolf's blood to drink, thereby turning them into a vampire or werewolf, if you survive the process that is. And the one that they exchanged blood with is their Sire, who are suppose to be a parental figure or guide you or whatever. There have been many cases of the Sire completely abandoning their fledgling (the one they changed/turned) as soon as they turned. But the Born were born as a Vampire or Werewolf. No point explaining that further.
Also the Bitten look like normal, but really hot and really strong, humans. Born vampires and werewolves' eyes can actually be pink or purple or any other strange colors, those can be easily hidden in the human world with contacts, so I've been told that is.
And if you're wondering how to tell the difference between vampires and werewolves, besides having a super nose that comes with being a werewolves (vampires also have super powerful noses but they aren't as powerful as the werewolves), is that if you look at a vampires eyes, they have cat-likeness to them. Other than that vampires and werewolves look like totally hot humans.
Yeah not much difference. But both would claim there are a ton of differences at least in cultural matters and beliefs. Some would claim in looks too, but whatever.
Anyway back to the students. Many of the students were looking around at all the other students, looking for a friendly face. Some noticed Elfrida and Akili and were whispering amongst themselves. Looks like they've figured out we're not from around here. She rolled her eyes. It probably doesn't help that their clothes are so strange to them.
Akili and Elfrida joined the throng of students. Most of them backed away and ignored them. While others just outright stared. Akili left Elfrida, so Elfrida wandered around the room looking for a friendly face to talk too.
She approached a group to introduce herself but they all noticed her coming and quickly walked away. Rude, Elfrida sighed, looks like they don't want to be my friends.....or them. She was looking at a group of girls glaring at her. But then she realized they weren't glaring at her. They were glaring at someone behind her.
She turned around and sure enough it was her sister Cammi, talking to a boy her height with blond hair and blue eyes, and who smelled like a werewolf. From the looks of it they were having a great time. Talking, laughing, flirting. Elfrida turned back around and saw the girl in the middle fuming with rage.
This fuming girl had red hair and looked like the leader of the group and, like the blond boy, smelled like werewolf. The other four girls around her, werewolves too, were trying to calm her down while glaring at Cammi. Two of them, Elfrida recognized from yesterday, they had asked her for directions to their rooms, they were the twins.
She smirked.
This was going to be interesting. She turned away from them and continued her way through the room. She made it to the edge of the room and noticed a girl her age with short blond hair standing in the corner looking out of place and nervous. Walking towards her, Elfrida could tell that she wasn't a Bitten, but she couldn't decide if she was a werewolf or a vampire. When she got to her, she glanced up and looked about ready to run. "I...do not.. bite." Elfrida said slowly, trying to get the correct English words out. "I'm....sorry, I'm not very bene....at speaking your.....language."
The girl, looking unsure, said. "Oh that's okay. You're doing perfectly fine." Then remembering her manners, stretched out her hand to shake. "I'm Victoria Newman."
Elfrida smiled, thankful she doesn't mind her slow speaking, and shook her hand. "My..name is Elfrida Crescendo. If.. ju..don't mind me asking. But what type of...creature are you? Vampire or werewolf? I can't tell."
"I'm actually both. Half vampire, half werewolf." She answered not sounding used to needing to say that. "Do you mind telling me what you are? I'm still not used any of this, let alone the fact that vampires and werewolves exist and I'm one of them, or how to tell which is which. I haven't figured out the whole sense of smell yet."
"I'm like you.... I'm vampire and werewolf mix." She looked relieved that she wasn't alone, I know the feeling. "My sisters are also like us too."
"Sisters?"
"Yes, two, they're my triplets." She motioned to Cammi, but couldn't find Akili. "Do you have siblings?"
"No....I'm an only child." She turned to look and seemed to catch her attention to the boy talking to Elfrida's sister. Wait, no, not the boy, but Elfrida's fair haired sister. Victoria realized she was staring for too long and turned her gaze back to her, blushing. Elfrida looked at her with amusement.
Her smile and eyes asked her not to say anything. Elfrida nodded. Victoria smiled thankfully then asked me, "So what's with your clothes? I've never seen them before."
Elfrida looked down at her dress. It's all black with a slight goddess effect to it, making it glide when you walk. It's rather beautiful. She looks back up at her new friend and said. "What's wrong with it? This is how the people in Welenta, and really all the supernatural world, have their clothes look like. It's no more unusual than your jeans and t-shirt."
"Oh, I didn't mean to be rude by it. I've just never seen anyone wear these types of clothes before. I'm sorry." She looked away embarrassed.
Elfrida smiled apologetically. "No. I'm sorry. You're the only person I've met that isn't staring at me like some kind of freak, I tend to get a bit defensive."
They were silent for a moment looking around at the other students. Then Victoria was again focused on her sister and pointed at her, Cammi, still talking to the blond boy. "Is that one of your sisters?"
Elfrida looked to where she's pointed, relieved at the change of subject. "Yes it is, that's Cammi."
"I'm guessing she likes pink." Victoria motioned to Cammi's pink medieval dress that went to the floor like mine.
"You guessed right." Elfrida said to her, sharing an entertained look.
Suddenly there was a loud shout.
Elfrida looked to where it was coming from and smiled seeing who it was. She's doing as I told her to do. She's following my plan, my order. She knew she would, especially her, but still. She knows how much it means to her to follow her orders, even if she doesn't like to follow them all (most) of the time.
