WARNING: drinking in this chapter

Elfrida

Victoria, Audrey, and Elfrida stopped off in their rooms to change, before going to the party. It would not be a good idea to show up with blood on them, to say the least. Before she could leave her room, Elfrida saw that a letter had puff-ed out of the one candle. Closing the door, she walked over and opened it. It was from the Master. Elfrida sucked in a breath, slowly lowing herself onto the small cushioned seat. Nervous filling her stomach.

You should be more careful, my love.

You wouldn't want me to think you were incapable of handling a few puny humans at a weak school, now do you?

Get rid of them now, or I'll send one of the others.

-The Master

Shit. There was an underlining threat in the message. He was keeping an eye on her. Watching her, her movements, and her activities. And he doesn't pull the punch, so to speak, when he's threatening people. But who was it that he sent to watch her? Devin, Ekata, one of the others. With a mission so important like this it would have to be one of them. Why hadn't she thought about that. If it this was important as he said it was, of course he would send another one. Sighing, Elfrida stood up.

She didn't want to think about this right now. This is suppose to be a celebration. A new member has been welcomed to the family! She closed her eyes for a minute, then placed the note in a drawer with all the others, not bothering to hide it very well. Elfrida took a calming breath. Looking into the mirror, she forced her expression from one off worry to one looking for a lively night. Once sure she could keep it in place, she left, finding Audrey and Victoria already outside of her door. If they noticed that anything was off, they didn't mention it. They started down the hall.

Audrey pulled out a flask from her jacket pocket and took a swing, then passed it to Elfrida, who also took a drink from the flask. Vodka. It burned the back of her mouth, but she made herself swallow it anyways. Needing to become blissfully drunk, and hopefully soon. Gods this day just seemed to be getting longer and longer. The sad thing about being 'supernatural' is that it's harder to become drunk and stay drunk than it is for humans, except for fairies and pixies, they're lightweight (even lighter than humans). She took another gulp of the vodka then passed it to Victoria, who stared at it oddly. She looked at Audrey and Elfrida with a  measuring look. "Seriously?"

"Yes, seriously. It's always better to go to this party already a bit buzzed then only start when you get there." Audrey said.

Elfrida couldn't deny this logic, with what had happened tonight, she needed a drink. She's having a rather unexpected stressful night. Why is this happening? Things just seem to be starting to get out of her control. First, she finds out not only are her sisters unknowingly working against her, but also her best friend's ex-boyfriend. Second, there's not one, but two people that know something they shouldn't and she's going to have to deal with them. And three, the Master has started breathing down her neck. Victoria finally took a sip, and promptly spits it out. Audrey laughed at her disgusted expression. "How can you drink this stuff? It's horrible."

"You get used to it. Let's get going."

And they walked out of the academy's main building. Audrey led them to the grounds of the school, down to the back, close to the lake. There was a lot of people here already, both vampire and werewolves, dancing to loud pulsing music. Lights were strung up on some of the trees near the lake. A few students were in the water, splashing and swimming. Laughter echoing into the nighttime air.
