Universal POV
Universal stood ontop of a large crate, impatiently tapping her foot. Where are those nutjobs? She thought. The nutjobs she was referring to were her friends. Aster, Comet, Meteor, and Korey were supposed to meet her here 5 minutes ago! Where were they? "If they don't get here soon I'm gonna wring their necks the next time I see them." Universal growled. Thankfully the noise of pounding footsteps saved her from having to actually do that. Around the corner came an out of breath Comet. Carrying some very heavy luggage.
"Hey Uni!" She called from the side of the building. "You've got to come see this! Omg! Meteor failed at talking sweet to Lally Tivan. And I totally got above the usual betting average to see the fight!" Comet seemed to be laughing at that. Why?
"What's so funny about Meteor failing to do something? He does it all the time! And what do you mean 'fight?' What happened?" Universal just watched as Comet crumpled to the ground, laughing hysterically. All the purses and bags she had been carrying fell out of her arms. Universal looked around the corner and gasped. All up and down the street confused people were shouting at each other, blaming the other for stealing their jewelry or money.
"See! Comet made out like a bandit." The sarcastic voice of Meteor reached Universal's ears. She turned around to see a battered and bruised Meteor stumbling forward on one leg, the other being dragged behind him uselessly. "I was the distraction, as usual." Comet continued to laugh like she had just witnessed a officer apologize for bumping a tree.
"Even I wasn't fast enough to get all that loot!" Aster exclaimed, grabbing Universal's shoulders. Her response was to elbow him in the stomach.
"Enough!" She shouted. "What happened! Why is Meteor looking like he just lost a fight to a cat? Why does Comet have an armload of money? And why are there half a million people standing there about to tear each other limb from limb!?"
Comet slowly stood up and wiped the sweat off her forehead. "Well, Meteor tried to converse with Lally Tivan. Of course he didn't quite understand the first 5 'go away'. So she threw him away! I mean an all out hit and kick thing! So while everyone watched that I took the liberty of removing their extra's!" Comet pointed at Aster and gave a short laugh. "And you got nothing Ronan Jr!"
Aster growled and lunged forward, yanking Comet up by her collar. "What did you call me?" He whispered. Meteor stepped back a couple paces, not wanting to get caught in this.
Comet twisted and looked Aster right in the eye. "Ronan Jr." She hissed slowly. Universal wanted to slap that girl upside her head. Was she asking to be murdered?! Everyone knew Aster hated to be called Ronan Jr!
"Before things get anymore out of hand how about we takeout anger on brick walls that feel pain, instead of brick walls that play with fire." Universal said while prying Comet and Aster apart. In response Comet shot her an evil glare and Aster whirled around and punched a nearby wall. A long crack snaked its way up.
"Good punch there, buddy!" Meteor said tensely. He was actually cowering behind Comet. I'd love to see the day that Meteor stands up for himself. Universal thought. Just then, loud shrieks wound their way up the street. All the people quickly fled the area as two heavily armed guards made their way up the street.
"Looks like we have company." Universal stated, glancing out from around the corner. The guards approached the corner and parted. Thanos sat hovering on his floating chair, a grim look on his face. "Hi dad." Universal said, trying to throw a hint of happiness into those two words. Thanos barely acknowledged her, he just sat there and stared at her and her friends for a few seconds before speaking.
"You know Universal. When I heard of a mass robbery during a badly mismatched fight, I thought it was you who had orchestrated it. But apparently it was Comet who had it all done!"
