Dates (The Activity, Not The Food)

Universal shook Aster awake around six AM. The party had rocked to a stop around four but he didn't need the sleep, she needed to know if the potion worked. According to Meteor Devin's had worked and Comet was now being asked on a date but that wasn't the main topic yet.

Let's just say that Aster waking up after a party isn't a happy Aster. And when Aster wakes up unhappy he wakes up everyone, including a not happy Korey.

"Can't people get any sleep around here?" Aster grumbled. Korey rolled over and played dead in his bed. "In case you didn't notice I fell asleep like an hour ago, gimme a break!"

Universal grabbed his shoulder and yanked him up. "You can sleep later, what happened with Bomb last night?"

Aster groaned sleepily. "Well I gave her the potion, I think the alcohol enhanced it cause then she was kissing me, and then after her and Gemma had an argument we both got even more drunk and....." Aster trailed off.

She shook his shoulders harshly. "C'mon Aster, your hangover isn't that bad, think."

Aster shrugged. "I asked her out?" It was a question more so than a statement.

Universal turned to Korey. "Well, did he?" She asked impatiently. He just shrugged then rolled over with a huff to go back to bed.

"C'mon Uni, at least the potion worked. I can ask her out today or something, I don't know." Universal watched as he started drifting back to sleep right in front of her. With a sigh she hoisted Aster off his bed and dropped him on the floor. Hard.

"Ouch!" He cried out. Universal grabbed some clothes off a pile near his bag and thrust them at him.

"Get dressed." She ordered. "If you're going to ask her out you better do it right away." Aster gave her a glare as he got dressed.

"All this trouble just to date a half raccoon." He grumbled. "This is the stupidest thing ever."

"All this trouble to take over the universe with our parents." Korey reminded him. Aster punched him in the shoulder and soon the two of them were wrestling.

Universal groaned in exasperation and left the room. She decided to head down to the Infirmary to see Comet. She was supposed to be getting released tomorrow since her enhanced healing was fixing her wound nicely.

When Universal rounded the corner she ran smack into Bomb. "Sorry." Bomb apologized and quickly scurried around her and down the hall. Universal went to ask what was up but she stopped as Bomb knocked on Aster's door.

Aster opened it and the two started talking. Universal would have stayed to listen but going to see Comet was just a little more pressing. She quickly got down to the Infirmary. Meteor was asleep on the chair in the corner but Comet was up.

"Hey." Universal said quietly as she shut the door. Comet smiled but her eyes were dim and tired.

"Hey Uni. What's going on?" She asked. "How did the potions work?"

"Great. Devin asked you out and Bomb and Aster are talking so the plan is in motion."

"Just in time too."

"Got that right. The Coronation of Novell is at the end of the week."

"I better get better faster then." Comet smiled weakly. "I think the bullet hit one of my central nerves. It shouldn't take this long to heal."

Universal walked closer to Comet's bed just as Meteor sprung out the chair and pounced on her back. Universal spun around and elbowed him in the ribs. Meteor cried out and collapsed on the ground.

"Nice try idiot." Universal snapped.

"I thought you were someone else." Meteor explained as he held his ribs and grimaced. "Are your elbows made of metal? Dear Xandar that hurts!" He groaned. Universal smiled.

"Am I interrupting anything?" Universal and Meteor spun around to see Devin standing in the doorway.

"No your fine." Comet assured him as he warily walked in.

"I heard you were awake and I wanted to see how you were doing." Devin said as he moved around Universal and Meteor who were eyeing him up.

"Yeah you 'heard' about it." Meteor mumbled under his breath. Universal kicked his shin to shut him up.

"How about you two leave so we can talk." Comet said to them. Universal went to say something but Comet motioned with her eyes for them to leave. Universal nodded and grabbed Meteor's arm to drag him away.

"Why are we just leaving them?" He asked indignantly as Universal yanked him out of there. "What if something happens?"

"Yeah like Devin would hurt Comet. He thinks he loves her! Everything will be fine Meteor." Universal assured him. "Besides I need an update on Bomb and Aster."

Meteor and Universal arrived back at the boys dorm room to find that only Korey was there. "Where's Aster?" Universal asked. Korey shrugged.

"I think he went with Bomb somewhere but I don't know." Korey yanked the covers back over his head.

Universal pulled them back and slapped him. "Think moron! Where did Aster say he was going?"

"I don't know." Korey whined. He grabbed for the blankets but Universal threw them off the bed.

"You'll get them back when I get some useful information." Universal bargained. Korey groaned.

"He said something about 'getting it' and 'whatever you do don't tell Uni' or something. I was half asleep so I can't say for sure." Universal paused for a few seconds before throwing the covers back over Korey and walking out.

"So where's Aster?" Meteor asked.

"Just follow me." Universal said as she walked down the hall to where she knew the heroes stayed. She found the room she recognized, Gemma's and Bomb's. Noises came from inside and Universal knocked. Instantly everything got quiet inside.

"I knew it." Universal opened the door on Aster and Bomb. They were sitting on the floor with books and papers strewn around them.

Universal blanched for a second before composing herself again. "What are you two doing?" She asked.

"Bomb's helping me with my homework." Aster replied. "I thought that since she knows so much about explosives and stuff that she'd help me not fail engineering." He grinned. "Why? What did YOU think we were doing?"

Universal shrugged nonchalantly. Meteor glanced at the fully made bed and the lack of lipstick on Aster's face. "Korey made it sound like you two were fuc-" Universal elbowed Meteor to make him shut up. Aster grinned as Bomb made a face.

"Oh please! I have far more class than that!" She grinned. "Okay maybe not 'far more' but some." Bomb winked at Aster as his face flushed. Universal watched as Aster attempted to say something back but instead just sat there moving his mouth like a fish.

Universal grabbed Meteor's arm and the two quickly slipped out as Bomb started talking about spontaneous combustion in engines. "What's wrong?" Meteor asked. "Aren't you glad? It's working!"

Universal stopped and turned to Meteor. "The potion was only supposed to work on the heroes. Not the villains." She pointed back at the door to Gemma and Bomb's room. "Aster is having fun with her. He's taking it slow. He's actually trying to spend time with her as a person and not as a bed partner." Universal paused. "He's never done that before."

Meteor shrugged. "So Aster is finally being decent. What's so wrong with that?" He then froze and stared at Universal's sad black eyes and tired expression. It clicked.

"Oh my Xander." He whispered. "Uni, do you-" Meteor didn't finish that sentence before Universal turned and took off down the hall.

"Universal wait!" Meteor took off after her but she was much faster. By the time Meteor turned the corner his purple skinned friend had disappeared in a crowd of colors.
