Aster POV
Today was Orbball practice and tryouts. Korey and Aster were super excited, although they didn't show it. All the talk from PJ about the sport had got them interested in the game so much! The only problem was a certain Xandarian boy; Rand. Apparently he was the holding MVP in every freaking sport he played! Aster knew something was wrong. And he was determined to figure out what. His super sleuthing would have to wait though. Practice had begun!
"Okay players!" Coach Drax called. All the boys stopped their training and came over for a quick huddle. "Today is the first Orbball practice and it's also tryouts for some of you." Drax started. "I expect you all to be good teammates and to encourage one another." He paused. "But most importantly, crush your opponents!"
After that wonderfully strengthening speech the boys broke off to get their gear on. "I hope that guy doesn't become a motivational speech therapist." Korey whispered to Aster, who likewise snickered.
"I hope he doesn't become any type of therapist." Aster replied.
They boys continued laughing while they pulled on their Orbball uniforms.
Now yes they (as well as the whole school) knew that the heroes had been arrested. But only they knew that it was their fault. Did they care? Kinda but not really. Like the heroes were nice, and yeah they had it rough at this school. But they were the enemy! So why were they sad?!?!? They should be happy for accomplishing something this big! Now there was no obstacle to getting the stones.
The villians were still sad that everything had happened the way it did. It didn't seem quite fair. At least to them. They should've at least planned to get them arrested. Instead they felt like fools for not thinking of it earlier! At least that's what Aster kept telling himself.
If that's the case then why can't I shake the picture of Bomb's horrified face when they were arrested from my head?!?! Aster mentally asked. He didn't have a reply for himself.
Korey and Aster made their way to the court with the other kids. They watched as the court became their playing field. On either end of the court two black holes appeared. They twisted and glowed, small glowing star-like objects floating around the edges. A glowing orb appeared in the middle of the floor, pure white and cream colored. A bunch of gun like objects appeared overhead, their safety's clicking off and red lazers showing them charging up.
"Okay!" Coach Drax shouted. "The goal is to shoot that orb into the other teams black hole. If you get hit by a taser lazer you are out!" He paused. "Out cold that is." All the kids nodded. Some first timers looked nervous. Well all of them did, excluding Korey and Aster.
"You ready dude?" Korey asked as him and Aster made their way to their teams end of the court.
"I was born for this!" Aster waved his hand dismissively.
"That's what you said about stealing but that didn't end well." Korey said, remembering the night before. Aster promised to punch him later.
"Okay begin!" Drax yelled.
The teams broke off. Aster grabbed the orb and started running towards the goal. Others jumped in his way but they all got head-butted away. Aster made a overhead pass to Korey who continued running. The lazers fired rapid pace but Aster and Korey dodged and weaved easily. A kid went to head off Korey so he threw the ball to Aster just as the kid got taken down by some lazers. Then Rand appeared right in front of Aster.
"C'mon Forgotten boy." He sneered. "Show us what your made of."
Aster smiled. "I'm made of winning material." He whirled around and chucked the ball back to Korey who lept and caught it mid air. He dunked it perfectly.
