Chapter 3

P.O.V- Kim

My whole body aches with pain. I don't know what happened, I just can't seem to remember. As I lay there I just can't open my eyes. I'm too tired. I can't move either. Maybe it's because I'm too sore.

Maybe if I lay here I can reconstruct what happened. Wasn't I suppose to die? Last thing I remember was. . . Hmm. . . I think it was seeing Tim in the alleyway. Wait, no. I had followed Tim into the alleyway right? No. I. . . Saw Tim and went into the alley. Yes! That's it. After that, we were thinking of something to stop the dragon right? Yeah. That's it. He had a dart and was going after her. Yes! I remember now.

I still can't open my eyes or move. Maybe I'll just fall back asleep. I have to wake up soon or Tim will think I'm dead.

Suddenly I hear footsteps coming and I feel a strong hand touch my shoulder. I tell myself I have to open my eyes. I have to see where I am. I can open my eyes if I try hard enough. Here I go.

I slowly open my eyes and I see Tim leaning over me. A soft smile appears on his face.

"Oh god. I didn't know if you were okay or not. You got hit pretty hard and fell. I was beginning to worry."

"Yeah? Well I'm up now. I guess Im not dead. Just really sore. What happened to Rachel?"

Tim looked kind of hesitant.he looked down and I knew he was fiddling with his hand. After awhile he looked up at me and told me something that shocked me.

"Kim. You can't tell anyone. I wanted to ask you if you wanted to join the agency with us, but they said you don't have a choice. They want to do some tests on you. I know you might not want that to happen, but they don't think your like. . . Well us. They think you have more potential, and they want you to join the team. They said you'll pair up with me."

I don't know what to think right now. I slowly try and pull myself up but feel the pain run through my spine right down to my toes. I fall back down and I feel something cold fall against my arm. I look down and see the amulet sitting against my arm. Finally I'm able to speak.

"Sure. I guess it won't hurt to find out what I am. I don't have anywhere else to be."

A smile appears on Tim's face again and I could have smiled back if I wasn't in so much pain. I remember him saying you heal faster in animal form, so after he left to go and get firewood, I changed into the leopard and laid back for a few minutes.

Finally I heard footsteps coming and I decided it was time to change human. So I go back into my normal self and listen. I start thinking to myself, it doesn't smell like Tim, and the footsteps are too heavy. Just like. . . The wolves! They were back!

I quickly jump to my feet and race towards the door. I didn't reach it in time. In a second, I was in one of they're arms. They put something up to my mouth, and then everything went blurry.
