Chapter 20
"Whoa whoa whoa! Guys she's with me. Relax. This is my friend. She came for a visit." I relaxed hearing Liam take a stand for me. Maybe they'll listen, hopefully.
"But Sire, how did she get in? We didn't see her pass any of us." They squinted they're eyes at me and then looked at the young Prince.
"Do you dare question me?" The guards all backed up in defence and simply nodded and walked away.
Liam comes to my side. "I'm so sorry about that. I forgot that they would so that. Lets just hope that that never happens again. That could be a disaster." He kept leading me forward, but the tone in his voice was a little strange. Almost sarcastic, but not quite.
He led me downstairs and began showing me around the palace. From the throne room all the way to the servants quarters, honestly I don't think they should call them servants.
After awhile of walking around, we met up with our parents. They knew exactly who I was even with my disguise. We walked through the gardens. I could tell my mother liked flowers by the way she would stop almost at every bush and just admire the way they were landscaped.
We walked over to the pond and sat on a nearby bench. I wanted to ask them questions, but I was scared. So I just kept my mouth shut for now.
Everything was quiet, except for the singing of the birds and the waterfall in the little pond. "Why exactly didn't you want me? I mean you could've hidden me from everyone, or told them something else, but seriously, get rid of me?"
My mother looked at me shocked and put her hand over her heart. I could see Liam and the King trying to hold back a smile or laugh. "How dare you ask me that. I wanted to keep you as much as I wanted to keep Liam, but the rules said only one child."
"Then why don't you break the rules for once? Huh? You could've kept me." I could feel anger slowly bubbling up inside me.
"If the kingdom found out about you they would have you killed." It sounded like she was hissing. She rolled them off with hatred. "They would've killed you and taken the throne from our family."
"So you'd rather be royal then have your own daughter living with you? Am I just not important to you anymore? Tell me that." By now the King and the Prince both stared at us in disbelief.
"How dare you accuse me of such things." She spits them out with pure hatred and storms off. The King goes after her and Liam just looks at me with wide eyes.
"What? Never seen a girl stand up for herself?" He just stares at me. My anger found its boiling point and I storm out into the cabin that Tim's in. He rushes to my side and pulls me into a hug.
I decided I didn't want to stay in the castle with my family. Or whatever they are to me. They aren't considered family to me anymore.
That night Tim had slept on the couch while I slept on the bed. He knew I didn't want many people around me after what happened. Something had to calm me down at some point, and tomorrow, I was going to figure out what they want from me. I didn't care what stood in my way.
I had dozed off for maybe a couple hours to be awoken by a large slam. "Open up!"
