Chapter 13

Sirens! I wake up to sirens. I can't see anything. I can feel Tim's arm around my waist, so I know he's here with me. The sirens get loud and in an instant Tim is on his feet. The only light is the light coming from the moon. It's shinning in the windows against his body. I swear if I didn't know I probably would've been drooling if I knew what was going on.

He looks around and quickly grabs me and holds me close to his body. He pulls me out of the bedroom into the living room. He sets me on the couch just as Kain comes running in.

"Alpha, the other clan. The dragon clans. It's attacking our cats. What do we do?" Kain sounded like he was out of breath and I knew he wasn't at the door. He had probably ran from the beach. I thought he would have been more fit, and I know he is, so he must've ran farther.

I stand up and look at Tim. He runs his hands through his hair. "What's going on?"

Tim turns and looks at me and smiles weakly. He looks so stressed and worried. I wanted to wrap my arms around him and give him a hug for comfort. "You aren't ready but we need you. We're gonna need your help. Cats can't beat dragons, and you. . ." He paused for moment and closes his eyes. "Your more then a cat, and your more then a dragon. You've been developing more animals with your training."

My eyes go wide. "You've been lying to me? Why? I trusted you! What else have you been lying to me about?" My voice is almost shrieking. Kain is holding his ears and Tim cringes at my voice.

After a few seconds he sighs and looks at me. "Kim I need you to calm down. I didn't tell you about it, I didn't lie. I lied about one thing only. That was being told to be with Rachel. I wasn't suppose to, she told me to just go with it, so I did knowing she could do damage." He closes his eyes and runs his hands through his hair.

I can feel the stinging in my eyes as the tears begin to form. I sit down on the couch and hold my head. "How could you?" Kain comes over to comfort me. He looks up at Tim like I've never seen anyone. Almost with a hatred look in his eyes.

Tim notices that and returns the look. He looks at me and his eyes soften. I thought I almost saw tears form. "I'm sorry Kim. I really am. I love you and no one else. I've always loved you and that's why I bullied you. Please Kim. Help us."

I've never seen Tim beg for help. I've never had anyone say anything like that to me. I knew he actually meant it. I slowly stand up and take a deep breath. Finally I breath out "What do I need to do?"

A smile appears on Tim's lips. I've never seen him smile like that. It wasn't a forced smile, but more of a loving smile. One that proves he isn't as mean as he seems. "We need you to fight. Fight by our sides and with us."

I agree and we head outside to look around. I look around and cover my ears from the blaring sirens. In the skies were dragons of all colours. I thought they said Rachel was the last one. Maybe that's what they thought. I'm watching them fly around.

Tim comes up and pulls me close. His lips touch mine for a second and then he pulls away. "Be careful." I couldn't help but smile. It's the first smile I've had in awhile and I was going to love it. I pull away and shift into a massive dragon. I'm at least 20 feet tall and twice in length. Almost twice as big as the other ones. I let out a roar and everyone covers their ears and look at me. They couldn't believe I was there. Their eyes were wide and they were watching me.

I take off and begin flying around. You see some of the dragons fly off in fear. You see the bigger two dragons, I'm assuming alpha and second in command, come flying around to see me. I knew they were planning something, I just couldn't figure out what.

I look down and see Tim fighting below me, I'm assuming he's following me so I don't get too hurt, as he would put it. I shouldn't have looked down, because in a few seconds the two dragons that didn't run off strikes me from both sides taking me down to the ground. You can hear Tim growl nearby. I'm fighting them off as hard as I can but they're on my wings. I close my eyes.

I have an idea! I think small. Maybe a mouse. Yes, that will work. I can feel myself shrink down. You hear the dragons growl and snap near where my head used to be.

I slip though their paws, or claws, or whatever you want to call them. As soon as I squirmed out I shifted back into the dragon and sink my claws into their backs. You hear them shriek. One spins around and pushes me off while the other one pins me down. His voice is almost like a growl. "You will be ours. Even if we have to pry you from them." It sounds like he's having trouble speaking, but it must be hard getting words though a dragons mouth.

With that said they both fly off away from the island. I lay there on the ground unable to move. I can't move. It hurts. It feels like every bone in my body is broken. What did they do to me?

I hear paws running towards me and lift my head but groan and it plops back onto the ground. I was so scared I was going to hurt them so I shifted human again. Least damage I could do was in the form. Shifting hurt more then it usually did. Tim appears beside me in human form. His hands run over my arms. My eyes begin to close.

"Stay with me Kim. Stay with me. Kain is on his way. Come on. We can't lose you. Stay with me. God darn it! Kain! Where are you?"

Within a few minutes Kain appears. I think. By now I can't see anything but blurs. I can feel someone pick me up and carry me. After a few minutes of what felt like moving they laid me down on something soft, the couch I was assuming. I can hear voices but can't make out what they're saying. Maybe something about me. Maybe those two dragons put some type of drug in my body. But I feel woozy. Like something isn't right.

After a few hours I woke up on the couch. I'm pretty sure I passed out on my own, maybe Tim use something to make me pass out. I didn't exactly feel like myself. I take a glance around and realize I'm not in the cabin anymore. I must be in the main house, or another house.

Tim walks in with Kain and a couple other guys. I can see Derek, David, and Max, but I can't place the other ones. Tim walks up to me while the rest keep their distance. He checks my pulse. "How are you feeling, love?"

"I think I'm feeling better. I'm not sure. Just still a bit dizzy." I look him in the eyes and his eyes were full of worry. He green eyes melt into mine and I can feel what he feels. The same worry and burning passion he does. I look away and get confused. What was that?

I shake my head and slowly get up. I actually felt like I've actually gotten the best sleep I ever have. I felt refreshed and perfectly fine. Kain looks at me almost with wonder and shock. What could that be about? I'm sure it's nothing. I jump to my feet and look around. All the guys were staring at me and I felt actually different right then and there.

"What the hell are all of you looking at?" I snapped at them. I really didn't think I would ever do that. All of the guys left except for Kain and Tim who exchanged worried glances. That can't be good. I turn around and look at them. I started getting angry with all of this secrecy. I was about to say something to them, when suddenly I felt something in my stomach.

It began to hurt. It started spreading all throughout my body and made me bend over. Tim runs to my side and puts a hand on my back and shoulder for support. I end up falling to my knees. This pain was tremendous. I have never felt anything like this.

The dragons.

It had to be them. I have never felt this before that encounter. I swear I could rip their heads off right now if I knew what was going on. Everything around me began to fade as I curled up onto the floor. "Kim? Stay with us. Come on. Calm down. It's going to be. . ."
