Chapter 24
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." I just nod and smile a bit. She smiles a warm smile and puts her hand gently on my shoulder, even though she has to raise her had to get near my shoulder, it still made me comfortable. It made me feel supported. "Where's Tim?"
Her smile fades and she simply nods. "We're going to get there in a bit, but as long as your "mother" is in the throne, our town has to keep moving, so all of the stuff we just walked by, needs to be picked up and moved, because the kingdom is taking over."
"I'm not going to let that happen."
"I don't know if we exactly have a choice, knights are coming by tomorrow to watch us pack up and move farther back in the mountains. No one wants a tribe in the village."
I didn't know what to say to her. Her eyes were showing signs of hurt. I knew I couldn't just let this happen. I had to do something to help them.
We arrived at a small hut that looked like the one I had came from. The only difference the hut showed, was a small sign with words that I could not read. Probably the tribe language. When I looked around, all the houses looked the same. Same build, maybe some different colours here and there, but always the same thing.
Xzeria leads me inside and we brings me into the back room. The room was white with a small brown bed and cabinet in it. Tim's sleeping on the small brown bed with bandages wrapped around his chest and stomach. You can see the red spots of blood going through the wrap, but I knew it was old because it was dried up blood. How long have I been in that dungeon for? Days? Weeks? I had only thought about a day or so.
I slowly walk over to Tim's side and kneel down beside him. His eyes begin to open and he looks at me and smiled. "Kim! Your okay! Oh god we thought we'd have to come looking for you!"
He tried sitting up, but I pressed my hand gently against his shoulder and kept him laying down. His body heat wasn't as high as it should be, so they must have used silver to injure him.
"What happened? I just remember hearing the gun shot and you lying on the ground."
"When they were taking you away one of those stabbed me close up in my stomach, then when I still tried getting up, he shot me in my stomach again and in my chest. Of course he used silver because he thought I would be a shapeshifter. I ended up passing out and woke up here in this village. What about you? It's been days now. Almost a week."
My eyes went wide as I was trying to remember. I looked at him speechless. He held my hand in his reassuringly.
"It's been almost a week Kim. They must've drugged you or something. How'd you get out?"
"My father. . . But. . ." I couldn't get the words out. I don't remember being locked up for almost a week. Could it possibly have been that long?
"You need to relax Miss. Kim. These people will protect you with our lives if we have to. We want to help you get your throne back. We promise you nothing will happen to you." Xzeria smiles at me and I smile back weakly. I saw how tired she was and how she looked like she was about to pass out. "We've had you in that room for about two days. You've been sleeping the whole time. Mr. Tim wanted to come and see you, but we refused to let him come due to his injuries."
I nodded and just smiled weakly. I said my good-bye's to Tim and walked out for a tour of Xzeria's village.
