Chapter 17
No. I couldn't be a princess. It said that my family had been rulers of the shapeshifters, the most powerful out of all of them. They've always been more powerful, but everyone got along with them because they liked everyone, and everyone liked them. Apparently they've been ruling since the beginning of time and were only aloud to have one child so that they wouldn't have conflict.
When I got to the part with my family, it said that they had a son. Prince Liam. He was suppose to become ruler. He was 17 and looked almost exactly like me. The hair colour, the eyes. Red and blue. How could it be possible? My grandfather never told me about a brother. This would mean, I'm a princess.
No. I wasn't going to except that. Not until it was proven. Maybe this was a different Hall family. You know? Lots of people have the last name Hall. . . And an shapeshift. . . With almost identical people to me. Yeah, defiantly not my family.
I wasn't going to believe this. I never was told that I was royalty. I never knew my parents. They died when I was younger. My grandfather told me that.
Tim saw how hysterical I was and came and wrapped his arms around my waist and held me close. "It's going to be okay. I'm sure he was going to tell you. Hey, I have an idea. Lets go find your grandfather and ask him for ourselves."
I could feel tears running down my cheeks. I wipe the tears and sniffle and nod. I guess it wouldn't hurt to find out something about my family.
We decided we'd leave this afternoon so we'd have a chance to pack everything up. Tim went and got the plane tickets for us and told the clan that we were leaving.
I was a little scared to leave because I've been here for so long, it was almost strange to leave the island. I was nervous to leave as well. What if my grandfather didn't want to see me after what happened? I mean, I've been gone for weeks now. Maybe even months. I guess he'll just have to deal with it.

We landed in my hometown around 10:00 pm. I was exhausted. We had been flying for maybe four or five hours followed by three hours of driving. Tim decided to take the wheel while I slept in the passenger side of the car.
When we got to my grandfathers house, I slowly approached the door. I hesitated for a minute and then knocked on the door. The door opens and my grandfather steps out. His eyes were a stone grey as he looked at Tim and I. "Grandfather. Good to see you again." I look down and avoid his eyes scared of what he might say or do.
I didn't expect it, but he wrapped his arms around me in a hug. He leads Tim and I into the house and sits us down on the couch. He leaves the rooms to go and get some snacks and drinks. "Well that wasn't what I expected."
"He missed you. It's been a couple months. Who wouldn't miss a princess like you?" I couldn't help but blush. I looked down and tried not to show I was blushing.
"It might not be true. I mean, it could've been written in the book just as a mistake." He nods knowing he can't win this battle against me. My grandfather returns with some iced tea and fruit.
"So Kim, tell me, who is this young man? Where have you been and what makes you come to visit me again?" His face was stone hard, like he was holding back a lecture because Tim was here.
"Grandfather, this is Tim. I guess you could say he's my boyfriend. I've been staying with. . . My friends that live quite far away. You know how I'm out of school and everything, I had to go somewhere. We needed to ask you about this book." I pull out the book and place it in front of him. "It says our family is royalty, I think it might have gotten it wrong."
"No, Kim, they didn't get it wrong. We are royalty. Your parents didn't die, and this book is telling the truth." He opens the book to a certain page and hands it to me. "This book only opens for my family. It writes on it's own and doesn't have an author."
I pick up the book and begin reading.
"The Hall family has been around for many centuries, fighting evil and creating peace throughout the kingdom, and soon moved to throughout the world. With war breaking out among the world, there is always an ancestor of the Hall family, or a ruler battling at the sides of their allies. The Hall family is a family that can never die in battle after they become ruler, until then, they are completely vulnerable. They are like normal people, until their 16th birthday, in which they will start feeling a change in them causing them to learn how to shapeshift. Unlike most shapeshifters, the Hall family learns to master every living and non-living thing. When they are young, they learn to master the living things and as they grow wiser, the move to non-living things. After one ancestor passes, the throne will be passed down to the next in line, though the king and queen are only aloud one child to take the throne, if they have a second child, they will be executed after birth. Unfortunately, there was one century, that had a second child. She has a brother named Liam. After she was born, the king hired a knight to take her to her grandfathers house, and to never speak of this to anyone. Only one person in the kingdom that isn't part of the Hall's family knows about this. It's been 16 years now, and the child should be going through changes and learning her new ability. It's just up to her whether she will accept it, or ignore it."
After reading that, I didn't know what to think, that wasn't in the book when I had gone through it earlier. What could be written down next. What if I its telling me to do something? If I return, then I'd get my head chopped off.
"Grandfather, where do they live? I'm going to pay my parents a visit."
