The next few weeks were hard for you. You spent most of your day sleeping and barely ate. Haiden tried to cheer you up but even that didn't work. You just felt numb. You couldn't process anything. The past few weeks with Kylo had been more than you could've asked for, and now it's over.

You sat at the table with your brother one day, playing with your food. You hadn't eaten all day but you still weren't hungry. "I really hate to see you like this," your father said. You looked up at him. "I'm just not hungry," you said quietly. "You haven't eaten anything decent in days," he argued. You stared at him for a moment before going back to playing with your food.

Haiden put his fork down and sighed. "Father, I've been thinking of joining the Rebellion," he said quietly. "Haiden, we've gone over this," your father sighed. "I've been thinking of joining too," you said, looking up. "Both of my children, leaving me to fight against the First Order," he said with a sigh. "I couldn't be prouder. Go for it." You smiled and walked over to hug your father. "Thank you."

You arrived on D'Qar a few days later. You and Haiden were led into a control room. There, you met the leader of the Resistance, Leia Organa. You and your brother were assigned to be X-Wing pilots. Leia led the two of you to the runaway behind the base. You were greeted by two pilots, an incredibly attractive tan man with black hair and a young blonde boy with bright blue eyes. "(Y/N), you're assigned to be trained by our best pilot, Poe Dameron. Haiden, you're assigned to Ryan," Leia said with a smile. "You can begin now."

You walked up to Poe, who greeted you with a smile. "Hello, darling," he said. You chuckled. "I'm (Y/N)," you said with a smile, holding your hand out for Poe to shake. "It's an honor to meet you, Miss. (Y/N). I'm Poe," he said, shaking your hand. You liked his personality, flirty but funny, and he seemed like a really nice guy. "Let's start your training, shall we," he said with a smile. "We shall," you said, smiling back.

Something about being here made you feel at home. This is what you had been training for at the Jedi Academy, and you had finally made it. After a few weeks of training, Poe decided you were ready to start running actual missions. You joined Poe in his squadron as a sort of right hand man.

Leia pulled you into the control room, totally unexpected. "Is it true that you're a Jedi," she asked you when you walked in. You stayed silent, a bit taken back. "Yes, it is true ma'am. Your brother trained me," you explained. "I thought my son killed them all," the General said quietly. "He spared me. We were in love. He couldn't hurt me," you explained. "You and Ben," she asked, turning to look at you. You nodded and explained what had happened a few weeks earlier before you had come here.

Leia listened, a tear running down her cheek. "There's still good in him. I knew it," she said quietly with a sigh of relief. She walked over to the projector table in the middle of the room. "We were planning an attack on the main First Order ship. The Resistance fighters going into the ship to attack have been told to avoid Ben at all costs but you. I'm giving you a special mission. If anyone can bring Ben home to us, it would be you." You smiled a little and nodded. "I'll bring Ben home, General. Don't worry."

I loved seeing your comments on the last chapter (I was just glad that you all wanted it to continue :) ) and I'm soooo sorry for making you wait so long for this chapter. I actually made 3 drafts of it (3 totally different scenarios) and finally decided on this one. Sadly, this book will be wrapping up in the next 2 or 3 chapters! But don't worry, I will most likely be writing a reader-insert for Poe because I mean, He's the fricken best pilot!
