Chapter 22

You sat holding your head in your hands, the pain slowly fading. "So much loneliness, so much sadness. Some of the thoughts you have scare me. How could someone as pure as you think these things," Kylo said. "I've been through a lot," you said quietly. "You seem so happy with the Resistance. That man. The pilot. You care so much for him. He makes you happy," Kylo said. You could sense the jealousy by the tone of his voice.

"Kylo...," you said quietly. "Enough (Y/N)," he said, cutting you off. "He's like a brother to me Kylo," you explained quickly. "I said enough," Kylo said sternly. You looked up at him, confused. "Why do you keep coming back," he asked quietly. "Why can't you just leave me alone." You walked over to Kylo. "What do you mean," you asked quietly. "I thought you'd be a bit more happy that I was here."

"I keep pushing you away. Why do you keep coming back? After all that I've done to you," he asked. You went to hug him but he backed away. "Kylo..," you asked. "What's wrong." He stood back against a wall and slid down it, sitting on the floor holding his head in his hands. You had never seen him like this before. "I have hurt you so much, and yet, you still love me. Why do you still trust me? Any normal person would have stopped loving me a long time ago," he said quietly.

"You know I've never been the one to make 'normal' decisions," you said, kneeling down in front of him. He looked up at you. "(Y/N), we're practically from two different worlds," Kylo said. "It doesn't have to be that way though," you said, putting your hands on his cheeks. "Come back to the Resistance with me. There's still good in you. Your mother and I both see it!" Kylo stared at you. "(Y/N), I can't. Nobody would trust me. I'm a monster. Why do you still trust me," he asked. "Because I still love you," you said quietly.

Kylo looked like he was ready to cry. "Why are you really here," he asked. "To bring you home," you answered. "Your mother misses you, I miss you!" You grab his hands. "Please Kylo. I know you love me, come on. We can live a happy life together, back at the Resistance base," you begged. "Please Kylo." Kylo shook his head. "I've killed so many people, I killed my own father! And you still love you," he said.

"Everyone makes mistakes and everyone can redeem themselves from their mistakes," you said quietly. "And there's still good in you Kylo. I see it in the way you treat me." Kylo hugged you tightly. "I don't want to be like this anymore, (Y/N). I don't want to be a monster anymore," he cried into your shoulder. "Then come home Ben," you said, standing up and offering him your hand.

"Let's go home, (Y/N)"
