Chapter 39

My brain felt fuzzy as I could feel myself lifting from the sudden fog that had taken over. A groan left my lips as I slowly fluttered my eyes open. My brain was pounding against my skull and I felt the headache coming on very strong. Light blinded my vision before I was able to blink away the sudden brightness. I could feel my arms tied behind my back once again and sighed in frustration. I looked around at my surroundings to find myself sitting in a metal chair in a room with one window and a beaten up looking door. There were scuff marks lining the lower part of the door like it had been kicked shut multiple times. My ankles had also been tied to the feet of the chair, preventing me from trying to escape.

They must have shot me with a dart once I turned into my wolf in order to tranquilize me. A low growl escaped my lips and I moved slightly in the chair causing a burning sensation to run up my arm. I cried out in pain as the searing burn spread throughout my whole body. What on earth was causing this pain? I groaned and hung my head low, trying not to move even the slightest. I did not want that pain to spread any more.

The sound of the door opening alerted me and I raised my head to find the same man that had kidnapped me from my house entering the room. I narrowed my eyes into slits and spit at him in disgust. A growl rumbled through his chest as he came closer to me than I was comfortable with. He leaned down so that his face was mere inches from mine and I could smell the foulness of his alcohol filled breath. I scrunched my nose and turned away in disgust, which is exactly what he wanted me to do.

He jabbed a needle into my neck causing me to yelp with the sudden shock from the puncture wound. I could feel the fluid running from the syringe into my system. I screamed out in pain and tears unwillingly flowed down my cheeks and rolled onto the hardwood flooring. "What did you do to me?" I managed to say in between the screams that filled the room quickly. A smirk pulled at his lips as he stared down at me as I writhed in pain. Moving caused the holds on my arms and ankles to shoot pain through my body on top of whatever liquid was in the syringe.

His cruel laughter filled the room and I hung my head low gritting my teeth so hard I thought they would shatter into a million pieces. My breathing was heavy and my heart was beating rapidly as I tried to control the pain spreading through my body. It was as if I could feel the liquid running in my veins and spidering through my body. I craned my neck to the side as if I could get away from the source of the pain. I closed my eyes tightly and let another scream of pain fill the room all the while the man stood watching me with an amused look.

"What did you do to me?" His laughter was cut short by the door opening with a creak before being slammed shut with a strong force. "I didn't tell you to give it to her now!" My chin was lifted up with a forceful hand. Cold eyes stared directly into mine with a surprising concern glowing within them. "Are you okay?" A growl rose from my chest and passed through my lips. I spit in his face causing him to throw my chin the side forcefully and wipe away the spit with the back of his hand.

He mumbled angrily under his breath and stood to his full height in front of me. "What do you want with me?" My voice felt strained as I struggled through the pain. A cold smirk grew on his face as he watched me grit my teeth in pain trying to hide my discomfort. "Don't you remember those wolves that attacked you in the forest?" I watched him carefully, trying to gauge where he was going with this. "Remember how your precious mate came to the rescue along with his buddies and killed all those wolves?" I raised my eyebrow in curiosity as the man standing by the door chuckled. "And remember how that one wolf bit you before he could save you causing you to turn into a werewolf?"

My breathing picked up pace as my mind began to run wildly as the memories flashed back. What was he getting on about? Before he could continue, the guy at the door interrupted. "Boss, there is someone trying to break into the front gate." He groaned in frustration and whipped around to face the man. "Well, go deal with it, Danny." He dismissed the man angrily before turning back to me with a cold smirk.

"Looks like your boyfriend is here for you." I screamed out and jerked my whole body against the chair, trying everything to break the chains that were holding me back, but they only caused pain to spread even worse than before. I screamed in frustration and anger before breathing heavily and sitting completely still. I was worn out from trying to break free with no use whatsoever.

He chuckled evilly before kneeling in front of me and grabbing my chin with his rough palm forcing me to make eye contact with this monster. "As I was saying previously before being so rudely disrupted, remember how the wolf bit you?" My heartbeat picked up as I thought back to a few minutes ago. "They turned you into more than just a wolf, my dear." My eyes widened and my mind throbbed with all the thoughts invading the space at once. "What do you mean?" He smirked. "You haven't found your new potential yet have you?" I yelled out in frustration, wanting him to get to the point already. "What are you talking about?!"

"My dear, you are part angel."
