"What the hell was that all about?" I hissed in Niall's direction once the ominous men had left.
"Nothing. Did you tell them your name?"
I shook my head. "I told them I was Jasmine. Obviously it's something." I mumbled the last part under my breath.
"Don't worry about them now." He said slightly relieved with me not telling them my real name.
I grumbled quietly and cleaned off their table. It was around the time that Meg should be here to take over my shift, but as usual she was late. I felt a hand on my shoulder and smiled up at Meg.
"Finally." I laughed and stood up.
"Niall." She spat his name with annoyance and that caused me to giggle.
I bent down to pick up the plates when I caught Louis staring at Meg.
"Meg, this annoying table is done. I'm going to clock out and you clock in."
She nodded and we swiftly walked away. Once we were far enough away, Meg leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"Who was the boy across from Niall that was staring at me?"
I looked at her in shock as she blushed with the question. One thing I know about her is that she never blushes about guys. Never!
I bumped her shoulder playfully as I set the plates in the sink and walked over to the time clock.
"Why you wanna know?"
She blushed harder but remained silent. I laughed and punched in my time card with her following.
"His name is Louis and he seems to be the only respectful one at the table."
She smiled at me and took the apron from me. "Well, I am going to introduce myself to Louis. If you'll excuse me."
I laughed and waved at her as I silently left the building hoping to remain unnoticed by Niall. So far so good.
I pulled my phone from my pocket and dialed Cresh's number.
"Sup, beyotch."
I rolled my eyes and let out a breathy laugh. No hi or hello.
I shook my head and continued to walk down the sidewalk on the other side of the diner. "Pick me up."
"No please?"
I rolled my eyes again. "Bitch, please?"
She grumbled under her breath and told me she was on her way. I laughed triumphantly as I hung up the phone.
If you haven't noticed, I don't have a car unfortunately and have to rely on someone to pick me or walk which I hate. I am saving for a car though. My dream one.
I sat on the bench in front of the park. This beautiful, field park was across the street from where I worked from 12:00-4:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
I didn't need a full time job because my dad spoiled me to no extent but I liked to make my own money so I didn't have to rely on anyone.
I like to be independent.
I looked out across the field watching all the kids run around and play on the swing set. The wind lightly blew the grass and caused my hair to flow gently behind my back.
I sighed contentedly and closed my eyes, soaking up the beautiful summer day. Children's laughter flowed through my ears, the sun dared to peak underneath my eyelids. A small, content smile was placed on my lips as
I leaned my back against the wooden bench. I took a deep breath and slowly let it out. A bad day so far has turned out beautiful.
I felt a presence sit next to be, but didn't bother to open my eyes. I felt a hand touch my forearm and my eyes shot open as a gasp escaped my lips.
