Chapter 26

I GOT ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE!

The wind rushed through my hair as he ran at an unnatural speed through the woods. A large smile took over my features as I gripped his silky, black fur in between my fingers.

He came to a sudden stop causing me to jerk forward and almost fall off. I gasped in surprise, but quickly got ahold of my balance and sat up straight.

I looked around at my new surroundings to find that he had stopped by a small lake in the middle of the woods.

The water was surprisingly clear and small rocks covered the bottom of it. A small smile pulled at my lips as I looked down at Niall's large form. He turned his head around to me and I slowly slipped off his back.

I stumbled before catching my feet and placing a hand on Niall's back for stability. His silver eyes stared deeply into my green ones before they looked out into the lake.

"Thank you."

His head turned towards me again.

"For showing me this side of you."

He walked slowly towards me before nuzzling his head against my chest. I wrapped my arms around his soft neck and pulled him in for an awkward wolf hug. He let out a low rumble of appreciation coming from his chest.

I pulled away with a large smile plastered across my face. He had a wolfy grin pulling at his snout causing his large canines to show. I looked back towards the water with a small smile.

"Did you bring me here just so I could take my clothes off to go swimming?" I smirked raising an eyebrow questioningly at him.

His head bowed in embarrassment and I'm pretty sure that if he was in his human form he would be blushing right now.

I smirked knowingly as he have me a silent answer with his actions. "Mhm, thought so."

His head shot up to meet my eyes as I shook my head.

"Not happening. Sorry to get your hopes up."

A low growl escaped him as he snarled his lips at me in playful aggression.

"Nuh uh, don't you be snarling those lips at me."

This only caused another growl to escape as he began to take a few taunting steps towards me.

All of a sudden he stopped dead in his tracks and his ears perked up towards the woods behind me. I furrowed my brows in confusion and listened intently for any type of noise.

A branch snapping behind me caused my eyes to widen as I slowly turned around. I came face to face with a large, golden wolf. Piercing silver eyes glared straight through mine and an unnerving chill ran down my spine.

A gasp escaped my lips as it took a taunting step forward. His lips slowly curled up into a frightening snarl and a deathly growl escaped its snout.

I slowly back away from the beast only to have something hard hit against my back. I slowly turned my head around to find Niall looking down at me with worry. He nodded his head for me to step behind him and I quickly obliged.

He copied the others movements, snarling his lips and growling right back. I stood in fright behind Niall hoping that the strange wolf would just leave.

They seemed to be having some sort of mental conversation as they carefully watched each other. Two more wolves stepped out of the woods to come in beside the large, golden one.

My eyes widened in realization and just then the golden one lunged at Niall causing me to scream.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while!! least it feels like a while...

I've been stressed getting ready for the ACTs which is tomorrow by the way so thoughts and prayers are welcome!! And work is kinda ugh rn. Sorry!!

I GOT ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE!!!

Y'all I'm so happy because I got accepted to Shorter University in Rome, Georgia!!! I will be taking undergraduate(pre-vet) there and then hopefully go on to Washington State University!
