Chapter 25

To say that I was nervous would be an understatement. An unnerving chill ran down my spine as I took a seat on the couch next to Niall.

"Okay." I swallowed down the lump in my throat.

"Do you remember what happened yesterday?"

I closed my eyes as the memories came rushing back and tears threatened to spill over. I nodded my head unable to speak.

I was never like this. That experience has changed me forever.

"Do you know why it happened?"

I shook my head. "H-e said something about me being in h-heat and needing to take care of it." I stuttered out trying to keep back my tears. "What does he even mean by that?"

Niall looked to Harry nervously. Niall quickly grabbed ahold of my hand for support as I choked back a sob.

"It is our term for a girls period."

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion along with the rest of the girls.

"What do you mean "your" term?" Cresh piped up confidently.

Harry took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his messy, curly hair. You could tell he had already done it multiple times due to it standing up. "I mean that we are different from you."

"You're not even making any sense." Meg spoke.

Louis sighed and rubbed his hands together before placing one over Meg's hand and interlacing their fingers together. "What we are trying to say is that we are not of your kind. We are not human."

My eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

"He means that we are werewolves."

A laugh escaped Carry. "That's absurd. Werewolves don't exist." She rolled her eyes and looked at Zayn who was looking at her with a solemn face.

"Oh, but they do, my dear." Her eyes widened at Zayn.

"Show us."

Harry shook his head while Niall never said a single word. "You will be afraid of us."

I shook my head, finally finding the courage to speak. "I will only feel more protected, as I'm sure the other girls would too."

They nodded simultaneously on agreement. Niall stood up and headed towards the back sliding glass door of his large house.

"Where are you going?"

"I can't show you in here. I'd destroy the place."

My eyes widened in realization and I mindlessly followed him outside with the others trailing behind me cautiously.

Niall stared into my eyes. "Promise me not to be afraid."

I nodded.

"Say it."

"I promise."

He bent down on all fours before fur began to overtake his skin and his bones popped and cracked as he became larger. I gasped as he shook out his long, beautiful, black coat and stared at me with powerful, silver eyes. He slowly walked towards me before sitting down like a dog, which I suppose he was, in front of me. Even in his seated position he was much larger than my small figure.

"Wow." I breathed out and reached my hand out to gently brush over his fur on the top of his head.

He bent down and nuzzled his head into my hand causing a small smile to pull at my lips. "Amazing."

He grunted in appreciation and scooted closer to me. I looked back at the others to see the girls standing behind the boys in shock and awe.

I smiled gently at them. "Show them." I whispered directing it to the boys.

They smiled in return before spreading out and changing into the magnificent creatures. Each of them had a different coat, but they all had the same silver eyes.

Niall nudged my hand with his head and I turned back to see him lying down in front of me. He nodded his head towards his back indicating that I climb onto him. A large smile spread across my face and I quickly climbed onto his back.

He rose up and my feet lost contact with the ground. I gripped ahold of his fur and he took off running into the woods.
