"So what we looking at"? I asked Mr. Clarence nervously. "I have some bad news. After they looked at the diary entry they found somethings on her laptop about you two". Mr. Clarence sighed. "What kind of things"? Toni asked curiously. "Ms. Toni could I ask you to step at for a moment". Mr. Clarence smiled at me. "No its okay. You can say whatever you need to say in front of her". I said grabbing Toni's hand.

"We've known each other for over 20 years...we're like family...so I have to ask you this and I need your complete honesty. Were you having an affair with the victim"? Mr. Clarence said looking at me right in the eyes. "No". I replied calm while staring back at him.

"Okay. I believe you. Now lets get to the trial process. We need witnesses...good witnesses. I want Ms. Toni to take the stand but not you. It'll help our case if you don't testify. Mr. Clarence looked through some papers roughly. "Now are there any questions"? Mr. Clarence looked up. "When is the trial set to began"? Toni asked sadly. "A date haven't been set yet but I'll let you know as soon as I'm informed". Mr. Clarence smiled.

The ride home was extra quiet today. Toni looked out the window the whole entire time. I can tell she was thinking hard about the situation.

Toni

I've heard too much for me to process today. Everything makes me think back to Kenny and Brittany in the kitchen. Then Kenny coming from her house a couple of nights prior to that. I don't want to believe what I'm hearing but what if...its true.

Jake

I jumped throw the bushes and rolled through the yard. I made my way to the patio door and looked inside. I tugged on the door and it was locked. I searched around and saw a flowerbed. I dug a hole big enough for the gun. I buried the gun then went searching again.

"Where in the hell is that key! Let me think like Toni". I said to myself.

I looked around and this small frog shaped statue stood out to me. I picked it up and stared hoping to see a key on the ground.

"Oh this bitch done got a little intelligent I see". I say chuckling. As I was about to put the frog back on the ground I saw inside of it the key.

"Somethings never change after all". I said placing the frog back on the ground.

I quickly rush to the front door and unlock it. I walk around and examine every detail of the house. I see pictures of Adrian all over the house and I start to cry.

"He's getting so big and he's so cute". I softly say while tears are rolling down my cheeks.

I looked around and saw pictures of them as a family and I grew angry with rage.

"I know damn well she doesn't have Adrian thinking that Kenny is his father"?! I shouted punching the wall.

I went downstairs into this basement turned gym. I looked at a couple of things and noticed a lot of things that could belong to Kenny. I placed a bag with a rag drenched with Brittany's blood in a cabinet.

I headed upstairs and ended up in I guess Toni's and Kenny's room. I walked into the bathroom and ended up in a gigantic closet. Walking through the closet I smelled the scent of Toni. I walked to the clothes and sniffed her clothes while smiling.

I took another look around and headed back out putting the key back in its original place.

The Next Day

Toni

Early this morning I heard loud knocks on the front door. I looked over at Kenny and he was sound asleep. I grabbed my robe and ran down the stairs. I peeped through the peep whole to see a bunch of cops. I quickly opened the door to a warrant being stuffed in my face. Before I knew it about a dozen or more came in the house. They were looking through everything and not putting anything back how they find it.

"Why are you tearing up my house?! Weren't you raised with any good manners! Didn't y'all mommas teach y'all nasty asses anything"! I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Tone"? Ken said coming down the stairs. "Baby look what they are doing to the house". I said mad. "Baby it's okay I'll clean up everything.

Suddenly all the cops headed down stairs. They came back up with a zip lock bag with something in it. They walked out rudely leaving Kenny and I speechless.

"Tone I'm so sorry baby. I'll start cleaning up this mess". Ken says walking away. "What was that they took Ken"? I asked curious.

"My guest is as good as yours". Ken said chuckling. "Kenneth nothing is funny about this situation". I snap back. "Please don't call me by my first name". Ken softly whispers under his breath.

"Or what is going to happen"? I put my hands on my hips and pose. Ken gives me the silent treatment and continues to clean and for some reason that made me so mad.

"Are you hiding something from me?! I'm your woman and you're my man we're suppose to talk to each other! You've been telling me all this sweet shit but you're not being yourself with me! Look if you messed with her just say it and stop playing with me mentally! I know your terrified of the outcome so am I but that's life! I love you so much I'll end up forgiving you anyway! Just be honest with me for once Kenneth!

Kenny stopped cleaning and walked towards me slowly. He had this look on his face of disbelief mixed with concern and anger. I've never seen him like this so I slowly walk backwards. My back hits the wall and I look in shock as Ken comes closer.

"I don't know if you've realized it but I could be going to prison for a long time for something I didn't do. I've been honest with you from the moment I met you. Why would I put you through hell when I rescued you from it? There's no telling what that ass hole would had done to you if I didn't care about you. You can buy into this bull all you want but I'm innocent". Ken looks me in my eyes deeply.

"You know who you sound like"? I say rolling my eyes. "You sound like Jake sorry ass! I will admit that you gave me strength to move faster than I expected but you never rescued me! I attempt to walk away.

"Why are you so damn difficult! One minute you hate that motherfucker then the next he wasn't that bad! I'm starting to believe you like the shit he did to you! I've never put my hands on you and you're free to come and go, so how am I anything like that bitch"! Ken punches the wall missing my face by an inch.

Kenny

"Look I'm just going by what I've experienced! You think Jake just came home one day and treated me like shit! No he didn't! He mentally fucked me over! Before I knew it I was doing things I said I would never do! I was so into him I thought everything he had me involved in meant I loved him! I'm sorry that I've been down this road before"! Tone storms off crying.

"Fuckkkkkkkkkk"! I scream punching the wall again.

I sit down on the couch and stare at the ceiling. We aren't suppose to let this lie ruin us. We're suppose to be cuddled up right now being happy.

I walk upstairs to see Toni laying in bed crying her eyes out.

"I'm sorry for the things I said baby". I cuddle up to Toni. "I'm sorry too Ken I pushed your buttons I know you're going through a rough time". Toni whips her nose on my shirt. "Really"? I look at Toni crazy.

Toni laughs out loud uncontrollably. She sits up and takes my shirt off. She lays back down and for the rest of the morning we just talk and enjoy each other's company.
