That night, I headed out into the park, because the sky was clear, and there was a meteor shower going on. I'm a huge astronomy nerd, so the clear weather was perfect. As I neared the park, I realized that my plans might have had to change. A few people were talking, and judging from the conversation, they were talking about me.
"I was locked in the basement with her!" a familiar voice, which I knew to be Puppet's exclaimed, "It's true, and I'm proud of it!"
"Well good job," someone else said, "That's fantastic. You get a special award. Woo-hoo, good for Puppers. You got locked in the basement with a new artist. So? Besides, I don't get why everyone's making such a big deal about it, us having a new artist, I mean. It's not like that's a rare occurrence that only comes once every one-thousand years after some grand cosmic deity descends from the heavens and gives a wish to a lucky individual, and this time, we were the ones that got it. I mean, seriously."
"Aero Chord, calm down," another voice softly said, "I know that you never like new artists, but who knows? Maybe you'll like her. Karma texted me today, and she seemed to like the new kid."
"Karma likes the new kid?" the person who I guessed was Aero Chord asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice, "That's even worse! Anna, I might be killed by a fourteen year old girl! Do you have any idea how bad that would be?"
"Amusing, huh?" a voice asked from beside me, "I always like hearing Aero's 'there is a new artist at Monstercat and now we're all dead' rant. Don't worry, he warms up to people eventually, although it might not sound like he does."
I turned to see a guy who was wearing a black sweatshirt, with the hood over his head. I didn't recognize him, although his voice sounded familiar.
"Can I just ask who you are?" I softly asked. The guy sort of nodded, then flipped the hood off. I didn't notice much of his face at first, since my eyes weren't adjusted all too well to the dark. Suddenly, a gleam of light from somewhere over by where the other people were standing caught his eyes, and before it died down again, I noticed that he had purple eyes.
"You're Monster. Sorry that I didn't recognize you," I said, "It's kind of hard to recognize anyone in this darkness."
"It's alright," he responded, "Until I got closer, I almost thought that I'd be having a conversation with Tut Tut Child about how you'd react to meeting Aero."
"Tut can't be that short," I laughed, "You're joking, right?"
"Does this look like the face of someone who would be joking with you?" Monster responded, suddenly pulling out a flashlight and flicking it on, then aiming it at his face. He crossed his eyes and made a silly face, then leaned close to me and whispered, "Seriously. This is. The look. Of serioushnesh."
I burst out laughing, as did Monster. Suddenly, someone tackled the both of us and loudly shouted,
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! WHAT'S UP??? WHY WERE YOU TWO JUST STANDING THERE LIKE LONELY OUTCASTS???????????????????"
"Shut up, Nanobii," Monster angrily muttered, "That wasn't funny. Also, please get off of me, I think you broke my back."
I felt the person who had tackled us roll over, then Monster sighed and murmured,
"On second thought, it might be a better idea to stay on the ground, or at least, do so until I'm sure that I don't have any spinal injuries."
"Spinal injuries?" someone with a friendly British accent asked, "Monster, I really don't think that Nano's that heavy. He's like a little fairy."
