The following morning, I woke up with a headache and Aza sitting on the edge of my bed, frantically poking me.
"Hey, you, friend," Aza said, "You know what you should do? Wake up. You should wake up. Sit up and awake. Be awake. Are you awake yet? Jessica? Jeeeeessica? Waaaaake uuuuuup."
"Aza..." I sleepily groaned, "Just five more minutes..."
"I've been awake for two hours though..." they dramatically sighed, "I'm bored..."
"You're an interdimensional being made of pure energy," I mumbled, turning over, "I think you'll be fine."
Aza sighed, then, after a pause, said,
"What will it take you to get you up?"
"Something shocking," I replied. Aza was silent, then slowly asked,
"Like, electrical wise, or... news wise, or... what?"
I shrugged. There was nothing from Aza, so I assumed that they had shut up. Then, fifteen minutes later, they asked,
"Did I neglect to mention that I invited the entire Monstercat squad over here for a party this afternoon?"
I sat straight up and yelled,
"WHAT?"
"And she's up," Aza calmly said, "I'm pretty amazed that that actually worked."
I glared at Aza and angrily said,
"Well, I'm up. What in the name of God do you want from me?"
"Company," Aza replied, "I can't talk to you while you're sleeping, and I was getting lonely. Also, I wanted to inform you that your parents have gone out, along with your little brother, and I made you breakfast."
"Eh?" I asked, somewhat confused. Aza clapped their hands delightedly and exclaimed,
"I made you breakfast! And I didn't want it to get cold, so I decided to annoy you awake!"
"You're so nice," I said, feeling mildly shocked. Aza glanced down and mumbled,
"Not all the time. Just sometimes. It's been a while since I've last had someone to be nice to, though, so maybe I'm actually being extra nice!"
They shrugged happily, and I grinned, then said,
"I'll enjoy your kindness while it lasts."
Aza nodded.
"Good," they said, "Now go. Eat breakfast. I'm dragging you out to the woods later to teach you some methods to voluntarily jump dimensions."
I raised my eyebrows, and asked,
"Voluntarily? So... no more accidentally jumping into desert planets in other dimensions?"
"Yes..." Aza slowly began, "But... also... it's going to help you avoid hazards. Remember that book X gave you?"
I thought for a moment, then replied,
"Yes... but I'm at least ninety-eight percent sure that Gabe has it right now."
"Wrong," Aza said, pulling a book out of nowhere, "I have it right now."
"But last time I checked it was at Gabe's house," I argued. Aza shrugged, and innocently said,
"Well I might have... borrowed it... without asking... and quite possibly have scared Gabe..."
"Aza..." I slowly began, "What did you do?"
