Chapter 28

As I slowly approached my room, my heart thudded like crazy. I could hear someone rummaging around in there, and I was slowly beginning to worry that the fireball in my hands wasn't enough. What if the person in there was fireproof? What if they had flame-resistant armour? What if they could freeze me? What if all of my worries were invalid and I was just being paranoid? Actually, that last one was probably the most likely one. That still didn't stop me from slowly approaching my bedroom, trying to make my fireball get even hotter.

"Alright," I whispered to myself, "When the paint on the walls starts to melt, that's when it's hot enough."

Thankfully, the paint on the walls did not start to melt, but my whispering gave my existence away, and I heard someone nervously whisper,

"Quick, she's coming! Hide! Do something! Just get... out... of her sight range!"

With that, I literally burst into my bedroom, SWAT team style. The first thing that I noticed was the blue, slightly pixelated bird that was flying across my computer screen in a loop, which was strange, because I had turned my computer off. I paid no mind to it, however, and flopped down on the bed. There was a slushie cup on my bedside table, which was rather strange. Why? Why would anyone leave a slushie on my bedside table, especially if they didn't know when I would be back? Strange...
I slowly picked up the cup, and softly asked,

"Why are you on my bedside table?"

Then I laughed and shook my head.

"I'm crazy," I muttered, "I get home, think that I hear people in my bedroom, and now I'm talking to a slushie cup! What's wrong with me?"

Then the cup shook a little. Then it shook a little more, then a little more, until finally, I got freaked out, dropped the cup, and out fell... Slushii's slush monster. Literally, that thing. I stared at it, and it stared at me. Finally, I said,

"And it's official. I've lost it. I have lost it. I've lost my freaking mind."

"No, you haven't," the creature suddenly replied, "I am real. Look at me right in the eyes. I am adorable, and I am real, and I am sitting on your bed."

Sometimes, cute talking things can override my 'calm and tough' personality, and I squealed, and tightly hugged the slush monster thing.

"YOU'RE SO CUTE!" I exclaimed, "YOU'RE LIKE A LITTLE BUNDLE OF COLD, SOFT LOVE!"

The creature squirmed in my grasp, and squeaked,

"EXCUSE ME! I AM A FULLY GROWN MAN WHEN I AM NOT A CREATURE IN A SLUSHIE CUP! LET GO OF ME!"

I considered its words, then shook my head and whispered,

"No. Too cute."

"DO YOU SEE MY POINT, HOLO?" the creature shrieked, "MY CUTENESS IS A CURSE!"

That phrase seemed to break the spell. I dropped the thing, and asked,

"What are you, exactly?"

"I am Slushii," the creature... Slushii, replied, "I know it probably doesn't look like it, but I am. And you walked in on me and San Holo, who is the blue bird flying in your computer screen, being pranksters. It was a dare by Tristy and Grabbitz, and the two BASTARDS dragged our bodies out of here, and now we're trapped. Or, we were before you came in here."

"Excuse me, what?" I asked, "They dragged out your bodies? How? You seem pretty..." I poked him, then continued, "Well... there. And physical."

"Nonono," Slushii said, "This is my avatar. Like on an online game! So, I have a little USB port... I think that's the right word for it... anyways, I have a USB port hidden behind my ear, and I can plug in a USB drive which uploads my consciousness to a physical and digital avatar, like the one that you're seeing me as right now! Doing so also renders me unconscious, and Tristam and Grabbitz dragged Solo and I's cold, lifeless bodies out of this room, and now Solo and I are stuck in our forms. Anyways, I appear like this whenever I'm hacking something. So I had to hack onto your computer and your laptop in order to carry out the prank, which involved a very annoying thing for anyone who makes music. Together, Holo and I renamed every one of your sound files. Have fun figuring out which is which. Oh, and even better, we named them all 'Slushii' and 'San Holo', so it's going to be really confusing! I also wrote 'Slushii was here' across the screen. Don't worry, it'll fade out in a couple hours."
