Chapter 32

A/N: I'm sorry about how long it's been since my last chapter, but in my defense, it's summer! And I am on vacation! Which means that I've been sunburned twice and also stepped on a bee! And my busy summer is totally not the only reason that I haven't been updating. Totally not. Nothing at all is involving Pokemon Go, or anything of that sort. That would be absolutely ridiculous!

An hour after I woke up, I decided to head outside. There were a few people strolling around - more than normal, and I had thought that maybe it would be a good idea to join society. Or to be social. Or to just completely and totally ignore X's advice and do stuff. Actually, speaking of X... I wanted to go find him, since I was pretty sure that I had figured out where he lived. From everything that had happened last night, I had gotten a really good idea about who he was. And if I was going to confront the person that I assumed was behind him, it was best to do it with a friend. So... where was Gabe?

As I headed outside, I decided to speak with a few people, and see if they had seen Gabe around anywhere, since he wasn't where everyone else was, even though Leo and Lawrence were out there, too. 

"Good morning, Karma," I said, walking up to Karma, who was casually sitting on Mike Darlington's lawn, "How are you?"

"Good," she replied, "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to carry out my threat to kill X to death. I wanted to do that after you left, but Jonathan gave me a disapproving look, and I decided that maybe it would be best to wait for another day. What's up with you?"

I shrugged and said,

"Just looking for Gabe. I think I've figured out who X is, and I want to face him with Gabe at my side. Because he's a part of this, too. Also, I want to see if Gabe agrees."

Karma glanced around, then murmured,

"Last time I saw him, he was being chased after by Ephixa, who was wielding his machine gun, and screaming something like 'stop offending me because I'm a penguin I'm not cute I'm dangerous...' uh... yada yada yada... and then Ephixa screamed 'I HAVE A MACHINE GUN!' and then he fired off a few rounds. I'm still not sure if they were legit or not, but judging off the fact that Gabe ran for his life afterwards, I'd say they were blanks. But yeah. No idea where they are right now. And did I mention that Ephixa's in his penguin form?"

My eyes widened, and I said,

"Alright, I can wait. How were things after I left last night?"

Karma folded her arms and laughed.

"Funny story," she began, "So, after you left, I threatened to murder X again, and then I left. I got home, went to bed, and at six o'clock this morning, I wake up, and I'm surrounded by Music Industry officials!"

She burst into laughter, while I looked at her with a concerned look on my face. After she calmed down, she continued,

"And so I sit up, and I'm all like, 'whaddya want? It's six in the morning, and I want to sleep'. And then this guy steps forward, and in this really deep voice, he asks, 'are you the first weapon of the Fields program?' And then I said, 'yeah, you've got the right person. Why do you always ask me that? You turn up in my house every single month, of the last two years since I left the Music Industry. I'm still the same person, just twenty times more awesome than you are.' So the guy glares at me, and says, 'We've come with a warning. We're going to attack in one month's time. Tonight was a warning.' And then I just rolled my eyes, happily sang out, 'you shouldn't have gone to the house of your failed apocalypse program to announce that', and then grabbed a laser gun and politely swept their ashes out of my house."
