After Medusa's dark past was revealed, I snatch my bag from the floor, shoving the memory boxes inside. Then, I rush back to the liar.

Surprisingly, I made it back in record time, turning myself back into my normal form just as I reach the entrance of the lair. The sun was just about to set when I enter the damp entrance. I sneak through the tunnels and quietly pass the halls of the lair. Even as I was cascading down the stairs, no one seem to have notice my presence. As I was nearing the entrance of the cavern, I slow my pace; I didn't want Medusa to notice my presence and scare me away before I even had the chance to explain myself.

I want Medusa to trust me. I want her to know that I never meant to hurt her feelings, and I never want to do it again. But, I have no idea what I'm going to do. Should I tell her what I know? I mean, I could, but what if she wants to see him? What if she wants to meet her brother; the one that probably doesn't even remember her? I know I have to tell that I sneaked a peek at her memories, but what if she rats me out to Pitch? I don't need to be caught with the crimes I've committed.

When I step foot in front of the entrance, I rub my hands together then grab the handle of the steel doorway, pushing it open as soon as I lay my hands on it. I was too deep into my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I was already inside the cavern. Once the realization finally hit, it was too late. A deep growl echoed throughout the large room.

I sigh. Here goes nothing.

"Medusa," I start. "I know I'm probably the last person you want to see, but I just came here to talk. I don't want to fight with you, and I promise to keep back the hateful words."

As I stood in the center of the cavern, I couldn't hear anything, besides the fast-pacing heartbeat that keeps drumming in my ears. I last thing I needed was being jumped by a dragon that's practically 5x my size. I wouldn't have the energy to run away.

Then, a hint of midnight-colored scales brushes into the light. After completing a circle around me, she finally emerges from the shadows. Her blue eyes pierce right into my soul, causing a tingling sensation going down my spine. Her muscles were tense, ready to lung at me when needed. It wasn't going to be easy trying to gain her trust, but I hope I can get to her. At least, she gave me a chance to hear me out; that was a first step.

"I understand why you trust Pitch so much. And before I tell you what I know, I need you to promise me that you won't tell him anything about his conversation. It has to be our secret."

She grunts.

"Just promise me, the last thing I need is to get in serious trouble with the Shadow King."

Her gaze intensifies, as if she was staring at her potential prey, and she growls louder than usual, causing the sound to drum through the walls.

"Okay. If I don't gain your trust by the end of my speech, then you can go. You can go tell Pitch everything."

She growls at me, once more, before she lets out a puff of smoke through her nostrils. Then, she nods her large head.

"Glad we came to an agreement."

She loosens her tense muscles, but doesn't lower her defense, then takes her seat on the floor.

I sigh. "I know how you came to be with Pitch." Just as she was about to raise her hind legs, I extend my hand out to her. "Look, look, look. I know what you're thinking. How could I know anything about you? But, let's just say." I reach inside my bag and take out the dark memory box. "I snuck out and brought something back."
