~Luna's POV~

After traveling through the skies and returning from Valka's sanctuary, Medusa circles around the walls of her enclosure before gently landing on the recognizable stone floor. Medusa lowers her head to the ground, making a safer journey for me, and I slide off of her back and plant myself on the floor. With both of us touching the floor, it marked a safe return from Valka's home without a single disturbance.

I spin back around and pet Medusa's scaly head.

She purrs at my touch. However, through the affection, I could spot her sides retracting and expanding at a rapid pace. Medusa was exhausted from the travel and she was trying to get as much air as she could. I couldn't blame her; after all, she was doing all the work while we were returning home.

A good night's rest was exactly what she needed and that's exactly what I planned on giving her.

I unfastened the saddle that was strapped onto her. It slid to the ground after losing its hold, lifting the weight off her back, and landed right before my feet. I grab the saddle from the ground and carry it with me as I traveled to the edge of the cavern, which was only a few meters away from the entrance. I plop down the heavy saddle along the rock walls which landed with a low thud.

I move over to a watering hole that also stood along the walls before looking inside the stone fountain that practically melted into the ground. The vessel itself was large enough to hold a pool of water, but for now, it was only filled halfway. With a Nightfury like Medusa, she needed plenty of water to keep her hydrated and I wasn't sure if all the water would be enough to fuel her thirst after the journey we went through. I mean, there was a mass amount of water inside to begin with, but it's better to be safe than sorry. For Medusa, it's worth it to put in the extra effort.

I call upon my abilities and focus on the steady stream that was trickling down the walls. The stream alone would've taken a couple hours to completely fill the natural container since it was taking only a fraction of a near-by river's water and traveling through the earth just to make it to Medusa's own water bowl, so I used my powers to help speed up the process. I focus all my thoughts on creating a waterfall to fill the entire watering hole. As the energy was coursing through my body, the water flowed through the walls at a faster pace until it was practically spewing out like a hose turn on full blast. A few droplets escaped the rapid waterfall and splashed onto my face. I brushed the water away and continued my focus on the steady stream. The water inside splashed against the edges of the fountain as more water was filling the inside. It only took a matter of seconds before the water almost reached the top. That's when I decided to stop the outpour of water and return it to its slow flow. I didn't want to overfill the container so it was best to leave some room before the whole floor of the cavern would be soiled by water.

However, the fountain will most likely reach its previous height, which was filled halfway, by the time Medusa is finished with it.

I exhale, satisfied with the work I done, then move onto the next task. I had to feed the hungry dragon.

Fortunately, I had fed her early in the morning, so I was certain that she wasn't starving. But, with her stronger built, she needed a hefty amount of grub to fuel her whole body.

It's easy to say that feeding her isn't my most favorite task. It stinks... literally. I mean, I could use my powers to keep the food as far away from me as possible, but the smell will somehow end up back in my nostrils and it lingers all around me even when I leave Medusa's cavern.
