Anyways, hope you enjoy this chapter. (I promise more will be out very soon!! I'm getting back into writing mode for this story! And I will be working on outlines for the rest of the series this weekend. )

~Hiccup's POV~

Even with the wind blowing past my ears, sending an almost deafening whirl through my eardrums, I still manage to hear Toothless moan. His head shakes as he goes on and on with his speech.

"I get it, Toothless," I answer. "We wouldn't be out here if it wasn't for me..."

And by out here, I mean out flying in the skies, and... by flying in the skies, I mean Toothless doing all the work while I, as his rider, am situated on his back.

He groans.

"I know!" I shout. "It's my fault that I let Prancer's gate open, but in my defense, I was focused on the fact that we have yet to hear from Manny... I was hoping that he might answer back any second now."

He barks, from the sounds of it.

"Hey... I thought I heard North calling!!"

I felt a rumble in his throat.

"Well how else am I suppose to catch a flying reindeer? Remember, we're in this together, Toothless."

He growls.

Just because of my inability to properly put the lock on the gate, one of North's beloved reindeers managed to escape from their stable. Trust me, I'm pretty sure he'd notice a missing reindeer. After all, there is only nine of them. I didn't even notice Prancer escaped until I saw him dashing past the window from the Globe Room, and for a split second, I thought it was a Nightmare but then I remember that Nightmares don't have antlers. Fortunately for my sake, no one else noticed the stray reindeer and I wasn't going to give anyone the chance.

So, as soon as I saw the flying reindeer, I burst for Toothless, finding him at the other side of the workshop, and race for the stray animal.

That explains why the two of us are wandering aimlessly in the skies.

I may've first thought that catching Prancer would be an easy job, but I realize I was wrong the second we hit the clouds. I guess I didn't read the weather report, but how can I? We were in the North Pole!

However, the cloudy day in (what I can only assume) Northern Canada is definitely making things more complicated than it should be. Prancer has more than enough hiding spots to try evading me.

But Toothless has superior senses.

There's no way Prancer can hide without Toothless hearing it.

Speaking of Toothless's senses, he cracks his head to the right then makes a sharp turn in that direction.

"What is it, Toothless?" I ask. "You got him in your trails."

He snorts.

"I'm giving you the lead on this one."

After receiving my approval, he dips into the nearest cloud under us.
