~Time Skip & Luna's POV~
It was almost impossible trying to hold back Medusa as we traveled through the dense, dark tunnel. Her excitement was through the roof. After all, with her being the only dragon around the "Dark Side" (aside from the colossal dragon that doesn't seem all that friendly to be around), she didn't exactly have a lot of dragon friends. So, when I mentioned to her that I planned on visiting our "secret cavern", she was more than ecstatic. I guess she wanted another chance to meet some more friends.
While she hopped on each stalagmite, I tried my best to maneuver passed them. Even if I was eager to be visiting Valka again, my spark was dwindling as I traveled through the tunnel. Medusa wasn't helping my case either since her scales were just as dark as our surroundings, and with her rushing ahead of me, I struggled to keep up with her tail.
I try to follow her swishing tail; then, I trip on another rock. I groan, "You know what, Medusa, you can slow down. Not all of us have your swiftness, and I'm talking about the only human between the two of us."
She purrs. She turns her head and looks back at me, her pupils dilated. Her icy blue eyes seemed to have sparkled even with the lack of lighting in the tunnel. She seemed innocent; if only her actions could match her mindset.
"Just because I can see in the dark, doesn't mean I can move as fast as you! I'm not a dragon!"
She grumbles.
"Leave Valka out of this. I'm not the one that is in charge of a dragon sanctuary. I've only been through here twice, and that doesn't make me an expert now does it."
She groans.
"Like I said, you're a dragon. Now, can you just listen and slow down!!"
She grumbles, somehow mimicking me and repeating the sentence I just spoke.
"Why you little-"
"Who's there?" a feminine voice echoes through the tunnel. It was Valka.
Upon hearing her voice, Medusa yelps before she runs off towards the end of the tunnel.
"Valka, it's us." I yell out. Then, I rush after Medusa, nearly tripping on every stone I came upon. As we run through the tunnel, Medusa and I spot a small light at the end of the tunnel. This encourages us to run faster, and we practically race through the dense tunnel, though Medusa was obviously winning. The light grew bigger and bigger, and its rays could hit us as we sped closer. I could pretty much see the scales on Medusa's tail as she ran ahead of me.
Finally, we reach the finish line... more like the end of the tunnel. Medusa won; it was a no brainer. Then, she rushes off, deeper into the cavern, once she spots Cloudjumper, and flies off to who-knows-where in the cavern. I pass through the tunnel opening just as Medusa lifts her feet of the ground, but I didn't bother to call out to Medusa. I knew she was going to be safe in this sanctuary.
"Luna, I'm surprised to see you so soon, and... so late," Valka comments. She walks away from a group of young dragons and reaches me.
I sheepishly grin then glance up at the night sky through the opening at the top of the cavern. "I couldn't wait to talk with you in the morning. I really need some help."
"Is everything alright?"
"... Not really."
She grins. "Come. Let's sit." She guides me through the area, stopping just ahead of a drop, and we sit on a couple of large rocks. The hard stone was cushioned by some moss. "So, what's so important that you had to come visit us in the middle of the night?" And, by us, I knew Valka meant her and all the dragons.
