~Rapunzel's POV~
As soon as I collide onto the ground, I let out a groan. My chest and abdomen sore from the sudden impact. Now I know how Jack felt when he was stabbed. With my back on the ground, I use my arms to push myself from the floor and into a sitting position. I look down my lavender shirt and spot distinct black streaks on my clothing. Just great, I got black sand all over this.
But, I realize that I didn't have time to cry over my shirt. I was in the middle of a fight. Then, I snap my body around and grab the metal rod that was blown off my hand. (The metal rod was lighter and more compact than my previous weapon of choice... An iron skillet.) However, when I got my grip on the rod and drag it across the snow, echoing a faint swish sound, I realize that it was quiet... too quiet, so quiet that I actually heard the sound my rod made.
I tilt my head up and gasp. Instead of finding the Guardians, my... teammates, fighting against the dark-side, they were all left on the floor, unconscious. Not only them, but everyone that was on the other side was left on the floor. Well, almost everyone.
Luna was the only one left standing. She was reason behind all of this. She even hit the people who were on her side. Is she going rogue on everyone now? But, wait... is that... is that fear I see in her eyes?
Suddenly, she was jolted out from her senses and stomps over towards another body on the ground. It was Mother Nature. She shouts but I was too far to pick up a word; it sounded like mumbles on my end. But, I don't understand; why is Luna shouting at Mother Nature? Before I knew it, Jack intervenes, and I gasp, placing a hand on my mouth. What is he even doing out of the infirmary; if he stays out here, he might pass out due to his injury yet again. (Sure, I used my powers to heal him, but I can't be certain that his insides are healed. Looks can be deceiving; I've surely witnessed that first-hand, not only once but twice.) After Jack's words echo out, which were practically mumbles to me, a dark substance consumes Luna and she disappears from my sight, leaving all of us to fend for ourselves.
My attention was taken away from that scene when I heard another groan beside me. I quickly turn my head to find Gothel just a few feet away from me. She, slowly but surely, pushes herself from the ground until she's able to rest on her thighs and elbows. Her curly, night-shade hair picked up hints of white from the excess snow that was stuck in the strands.
My breathing picks up, but I surely wasn't going to back down if she decided to pounce at me. Surely, 'mother' taught me better than that.
"I'm guessing Pitch didn't plan this," I finally say.
She scoffs, "I wouldn't be surprised if the Nightmare Bitch killed us all; she's too naive to even control those powers of hers."
"And, I bet that would put a giant hole in your plans, huh?"
She looks back at me and raises an eyebrow.
"You and Pitch... and every one of you will never win. Mark my words, you'll never get your hands on this world. Darkness doesn't belong here. Pitch will lose."
